3rd Shift Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Maintenance Engineer will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a variety of production and packaging equipment in a large, climate-controlled warehouse environment. This role focuses on diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing scheduled and corrective maintenance, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently to support continuous operations.
Responsibilities

Troubleshoot issues on machinery to quickly identify root causes of equipment malfunctions.

Perform mechanical and basic electrical repairs on production and packaging equipment.

Schedule and perform maintenance work for all assigned equipment in accordance with company procedures.

Analyze and diagnose equipment problems and breakdowns using appropriate tools and documentation.

Recommend appropriate service and repair actions to resolve equipment performance issues.

Make effective equipment repairs or modifications to address operating and performance problems.

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and extend asset life.

Follow all scheduled maintenance procedures and policies as defined by the company.

Work safely around automated equipment, following all safety guidelines and best practices.

Collaborate with other technicians and operations staff to prioritize maintenance tasks and support production needs.

Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately and in a timely manner.
Essential Skills
-
At least 1 year of experience in distribution facilities maintenance.
-
2+ years of mechanical maintenance experience or completion of applicable technical schooling.
-
Hands-on experience with mechanical maintenance and repair in an industrial or warehouse setting.
-
Ability to troubleshoot and repair production and packaging machinery.
-
Strong understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
-
Basic electrical and mechanical aptitude, including safe use of tools and diagnostic equipment.
-
Ability to read and follow maintenance procedures and company policies.
-
Willingness and ability to work 12-hour shifts on a FridaySunday schedule (8:00 a.m. 8:30 p.m.), with the option to pick up additional hours during the week where available.

Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with PLCs and PLC troubleshooting.

Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.

Ability to read and interpret schematics.

HVAC experience or familiarity with HVAC systems.

Experience working with equipment such as Paradigm 700 label applicators, Pacesetter PS125 bag sealers, Adco box formers, accumulating turn tables, case formers, case sealers, print-and-apply systems, glue machines, stretch wrappers, side seal shrink systems, heat tunnels, and case tapers.

Prior experience in a high-volume warehouse or distribution environment.

Comfort working across multiple shifts and locations, including potential opportunities on 1st shift (7:00 a.m. 3:30 p.m., MondayFriday) and other shift patterns at different facilities.

Interest in growing into a lead maintenance role over time.

Work Environment
The role is based in a large, approximately 600,000-square-foot, climate-controlled warehouse and distribution facility. You will work around automated packaging and material-handling equipment, including label applicators, bag sealers, box formers, accumulating turn tables, case formers and sealers, print-and-apply systems, glue machines, stretch wrappers, side seal shrink systems, heat tunnels, and case tapers. The primary shift for this position is Friday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., with opportunities to pick up additional hours during the week to reach a 40-hour schedule where available. Other locations and shifts within the network operate on structured schedules such as 1st shift MondayFriday (7:00 a.m.3:30 p.m.) and various four-day, 10-hour shift patterns across days and evenings. The environment is typical of a warehouse and production setting, with a focus on safety, cleanliness, and efficient workflow, and standard industrial attire and appropriate personal protective equipment are expected.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.75 - $35.75/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
