Full job description

Job Title : Senior Medical Validation Expert – Clinical & Real-World Evidence (RWE) Position Overview

This role offers the opportunity to serve as an independent medical authority responsible for evaluating the clinical accuracy, reliability, and relevance of healthcare data, analytical models, and research outputs across multiple disease areas.

The position combines broad clinical knowledge with Real-World Evidence (RWE), healthcare claims analysis, observational research, and predictive-model evaluation. You will challenge assumptions, validate findings against established medical evidence, establish acceptance criteria, and guide teams in determining whether analytical outputs are medically accurate, reliable, and appropriate for use.

What You'll Do / Key Responsibilities

  • Independently review data definitions, model assumptions, and analytical outputs for medical accuracy.

  • Compare analytical results against clinical guidelines, published research, known disease rates, and expected clinical outcomes.

  • Identify medically implausible results, misleading conclusions, incorrect cause-and-effect claims, and coding-related artifacts.

  • Evaluate the clinical validity and reliability of Real-World Evidence, claims analyses, observational studies, and predictive-model results.

  • Establish medical benchmarks and acceptance criteria, including pass, conditional-pass, and fail standards.

  • Determine when supporting evidence is insufficient or unsuitable for use.

  • Provide structured, prioritized feedback to data, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), product, and engineering teams.

  • Document review findings, including assumptions, outcomes, limitations, potential misinterpretations, and recommended corrective actions.

  • Develop medical validation plans and review checklists for individual disease areas.

  • Provide medical readiness recommendations for internal review, controlled testing, or expansion into additional disease areas.

Required Qualifications

  • Broad clinical knowledge across multiple disease areas and the ability to quickly develop knowledge in new disease areas.

  • Experience interpreting Real-World Evidence (RWE), claims analyses, observational studies, and predictive-model results.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify medically implausible results, incorrect cause-and-effect claims, coding artifacts, and unsafe or misleading presentations.

  • Experience establishing medical benchmarks and validating outputs against clinical guidelines, published literature, epidemiology, and treatment patterns.

  • Ability to establish medical acceptance criteria and determine when evidence is insufficient for use.

  • Experience providing structured and prioritized feedback to multidisciplinary teams.

  • Ability to work credibly with medical, HEOR, research, and analytics stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently with defined review authority, access to supporting evidence, and sufficient time to review every iteration rather than only final outputs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MD preferred, particularly when formal medical sign-off is expected.

  • Clinically trained scientist may be considered when the review scope and decision-making authority are clearly defined.
