Full job description

Lead the end-to-end design and validation of global home appliance subsystems (Console, Door, Chassis), utilizing sheet metal and plastic component design principles. Execute Simulation Based Design (SBD) using FEA and CFD analysis to validate structural and dynamic performance prior to physical prototyping. Drive concept selection by creating multiple design options and finalizing directions through decision matrices and Proof of Concept (PoC) fabrication in model shops. Ensure regulatory compliance for North American and global markets, strictly adhering to codes such as UL858, ANSI, and CSA C22.2. Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical direction and reviewing their work (CAD, simulations, and analysis) to ensure zero-defect design releases. Facilitate technical design reviews for the team, critiquing concepts and validating engineering logic to maintain high standards for North American projects. Manage module ownership for subsystems, driving Zero Based Planning (ZBP) for inventory control and executing cost/quality projects. Coordinate with cross-functional partners (Manufacturing, Marketing, Procurement) to ensure design feasibility and alignment with capital/piece cost targets. Champion robust product development by utilizing DFMEA, APQP, and 1D Stack-up analysis to mitigate risks early in the design phase. Apply OpEx Six Sigma methodologies to drive data-driven decision-making & RCA analysis to resolve critical technical issues, performing Design of Experiments (DOE) and Measurement System Evaluation (MSE) to reduce variation. Mentor technical teams in critical skills such as variation analysis and tolerance stacks to build departmental capabilities. Lead Console Susbsystem project scopes, which regularly oversees a budget of US$30K--$50K annually. Use PMP methodologies and standards to lead a subsystem with global team members. Domestic travel required 5-6 weeks per year and international travel required 1-2 times per year. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or closely related field plus 7 years of experience in the offered position or closely related occupation.
