Full job description

Based in Garden Grove, this site-based Senior Process Engineer role leads injection molding process development, new mold introduction, tooling optimization, production readiness, and continuous improvement. The position combines technical ownership, project delivery, cross-functional leadership, and development of the process and tooling team.

  • New Mold Delivery: Owns new mold introductions from design review through production release, managing Gantt schedules, milestones, risks, trials, validation, documentation, production-readiness checklists, and escalation of deviations.

  • Process Optimization: Develops and standardizes injection molding processes, troubleshoots defects and instability, leads DOE and SPC activities, establishes process windows, and improves cycle time, yield, uptime, and productivity while maintaining quality and compliance.

  • Cost and Scrap Reduction: Leads WCM savings projects and the site injection molding scrap-reduction strategy by analyzing defect trends, process data, downtime, material usage, and tooling performance, then validating documented savings.

  • Kaizen Leadership: Defines and hosts major Kaizen events, establishes measurable objectives and action plans, facilitates cross-functional problem solving, verifies sustained results, and coaches personnel in Lean and root-cause methods.

  • Tooling and Team Leadership: Provides technical direction for mold maintenance, modifications, reliability, tooling priorities, and CAPEX justifications while leading approximately three direct reports and coordinating broader project teams.

  • Compliance and Documentation: Maintains engineering standards and records, leads corrective and preventive actions, supports ISO 9001, safety, and Life Sciences requirements, manages change control, and ensures timely training and validation documentation.

  • Performance Targets: Expected results include stable capable processes, a sustained scrap rate below 2% subject to product mix and business targets, approximately 10–15% cycle-time improvement where feasible, on-time WCM and CAPEX delivery, complete documentation and training, and effective corrective actions.

Qualifications and Scope:

Requires an engineering bachelor's degree, at least 7 years in plastics manufacturing, at least 6 years of hands-on injection molding experience, relevant project and statistical problem-solving expertise, RGJ Master Molder I and Six Sigma Green Belt certification or timely attainment, and approximately 5–10% travel.
