Full job description

Description

A growing manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced AP/AR Accountant to join their accounting team. This role is responsible for managing full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions while supporting month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong GAAP accounting knowledge, prior experience in a manufacturing environment, and a detail-oriented approach to financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, vendor maintenance, payment processing, and discrepancy resolution.

  • Oversee Accounts Receivable activities, including billing, cash application, collections, and account reconciliation.

  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

  • Ensure accounting transactions comply with GAAP and company policies.

  • Monitor aging reports and proactively follow up on outstanding balances.

  • Assist with inventory-related accounting transactions and manufacturing cost accounting processes.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, supporting schedules, and audit documentation.

  • Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and production teams to resolve accounting discrepancies.

  • Support process improvement initiatives and internal control procedures.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 3+ years of accounting experience with significant AP and AR responsibilities.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles and accounting best practices.

  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365.

  • Exposure to inventory accounting, cost accounting, or manufacturing ERP systems.

  • Experience participating in audits and financial statement preparation.
