About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a well-established, industry-leading food and beverage manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join its growing Finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional with strong manufacturing cost accounting and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience who enjoys partnering with operations, analyzing production costs, and driving financial performance.

Reporting to the Director of Cost Accounting & Production Finance, this individual will play a critical role in managing standard costing, production variances, inventory accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross-functional operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain annual standard costs for manufactured products, incorporating production volumes, labor, materials, and overhead.

• Analyze actual versus standard costs, identifying production variances and recommending improvements.

• Maintain and analyze Bills of Materials (BOMs), inventory transactions, and manufacturing cost allocations.

• Prepare and present monthly financial performance reports to production and operations leadership.

• Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Operations teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.

• Monitor manufacturing overhead, labor efficiency, production expenses, and inventory valuation.

• Support month-end closing activities, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

• Conduct cost analysis for new products, production changes, and operational initiatives.

• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen financial processes.

• Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

• Collaborate with Finance and FP&A teams to support strategic planning and business decisions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.

• Hands-on manufacturing cost accounting experience within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is required.

• Approximately 5+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience preferred.

• Strong understanding of standard costing, Bills of Materials (BOMs), manufacturing overhead, and production variance analysis.

• Experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and large data sets.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial reporting skills.

• Ability to communicate financial information effectively to both accounting and non-financial operations teams.

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in food, beverage, wine, or related CPG manufacturing environments.

• SAP experience preferred but not required; other manufacturing ERP systems accepted.

• Experience supporting production budgeting, forecasting, and inventory cost analysis.

• Demonstrated success identifying manufacturing cost savings and process improvements.

• Experience partnering directly with plant operations and production leadership.

Pay Details: $75,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year
