Description
Professional Development Coordinator for Automation
Bridgerland Technical College (BTECH) is looking for an organized, hands-on professional to join our team as a Part-Time Professional Development Coordinator for Automation.
This position supports BTECH’s iATE project, working with educational partners to coordinate professional development, curriculum resources, and the development and delivery of automation trainers. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of technical work, project coordination, training, and collaboration.
This is an On-Site Position
This position is on-site at Bridgerland Technical College and requires regular in-person interaction with BTECH employees, consortium members, workshop participants, project partners, and other stakeholders. The essential duties of this position require a physical presence on campus, along with occasional travel to participating institutions.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
-
Coordinate professional development activities, workshops, trainings, materials, and logistics for iATE consortium members.
-
Support the onboarding and ongoing engagement of participating institutions.
-
Coordinate the delivery and updates of iATE curriculum and related resources.
-
Assist with the development, assembly, and testing of automation trainers.
-
Use 3D printing and other equipment to produce and prepare trainer components.
-
Prepare equipment, materials, and workspaces for Build-a-Trainer workshops.
-
Provide hands-on instruction, troubleshooting, and technical support during trainer-building activities.
-
Prepare, transport, and deliver automation trainers and related materials to participating institutions.
-
Develop how-to videos, instructions, and other resources for trainer assembly, setup, and use.
-
Track project participation, outcomes, records, and documentation needed for grant reporting and evaluation.
-
Conduct quarterly visits to consortium members being onboarded, which may include overnight travel.
What We’re Looking For
A postsecondary certificate or higher in automation technology, industrial maintenance, manufacturing technology, education, or a related field is required.
The successful candidate will also have strong organizational and technical skills; the ability to work with tools, equipment, mechanical and electrical components, and 3D printing equipment; effective written and verbal communication skills; and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working both independently and collaboratively.
Experience with professional development, curriculum support, educational programs, automation equipment, parts assembly, 3D printing, or related technical work is preferred.
Physical Requirements
This is a hands-on position that requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform activities including sitting, standing, walking, grasping, pulling, pushing, squatting, bending, twisting, climbing, and tasks requiring manual dexterity and fine and gross motor skills. The position also requires visual and auditory acuity and may involve working in office, classroom, lab, industry simulation, and industry environments. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the physical requirements.
Why BTECH?
At Bridgerland Technical College, you’ll be part of a team focused on innovative, hands-on technical education and strong partnerships with education and industry. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine automation technology, education, and professional development while helping expand training resources for participating institutions.
