Full job description

Who we are:

Nitra's mission is to build a more efficient healthcare system and the technology that makes it possible. Our goal is to provide an ecosystem of fintech and software solutions that help doctors better manage their practices, so they can have time back to focus on what matters to them most.

We operate with urgency, intensity, and ambition. The bar is high because the opportunity is massive. We expect excellence, ownership, and intellectual rigor from every team member. We move fast, make bold decisions, and hold ourselves accountable to results. At the same time, we believe great companies are built on trust and respect. Every voice matters. Every contribution counts. When we win, we win together.

We are scaling rapidly and on a clear trajectory toward becoming a unicorn this year — and beyond. Our growth is not accidental; it’s the result of disciplined execution, relentless focus, and a team that refuses to settle. We are building a category-defining company, and we’re looking for people who want to do the most meaningful work of their careers.

If you want comfort, this isn’t the place.

If you want impact, ownership, and the chance to help build a generational fintech company, welcome.

Nitra was created by unicorn founders who have successfully scaled to thousands of customers and exited $1B+ public offerings. They are joined by an ambitious and experienced team from American Express, Citi, PayPal, Capsule, Plaid, Bloomberg, Meta, Facebook, and Mastercard. The team is backed by some of the world’s leading VCs (Andreessen Horowitz, NEA, etc.) and is supported by an expert group of advisors including the cofounders of Square and Xendit, executives from Intuit, former Governors, White House senior staffers, and a co-founder of CityMD.

Nitra maintains a hybrid work policy, with team members working from the office four days per week and Wednesdays designated as a work-from-home day.

As Director of Marketplace, you will own the go-to-market and operating functions of NitraMart, overseeing sales, account management, vendor relationships, and marketplace operations. You'll be responsible for identifying opportunities to grow the business, improving how we serve customers and work with vendors, and building scalable processes as the marketplace expands.

This is a hands-on, cross-functional leadership role for someone who understands healthcare commerce and has experience building and scaling a business or function from the ground up. You'll work closely with leadership and our partnerships, product, and engineering teams to identify gaps, improve workflows, and move manual processes toward automation.

We're looking for an operator who can take ownership of a complex business, navigate ambiguity, and build the processes and team needed to support continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Own marketplace go-to-market: Lead the commercial execution of NitraMart, overseeing sales and account management to drive customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and marketplace growth.

• Build and scale operations: Identify gaps in existing workflows, establish repeatable processes, and build the operational infrastructure needed to support a growing marketplace.

• Manage vendor relationships: Serve as a key point of contact for vendors, distributors, and pharmaceutical partners. Develop strong relationships, resolve operational challenges, and work cross-functionally to expand product availability.

• Improve marketplace performance: Use data and analytics to understand marketplace performance, evaluate merchandising and pricing opportunities, identify bottlenecks, and make informed decisions about where to focus.

• Drive automation and efficiency: Challenge legacy ways of working and partner with product and engineering teams to automate manual workflows, improve systems, and make marketplace operations more scalable.

• Build from zero to one: Take ownership of new initiatives, work through ambiguous problems, and develop solutions in an evolving business where processes and infrastructure are still being built.

• Lead cross-functional execution: Work closely with leadership and internal teams to align commercial priorities, vendor needs, customer requirements, and operational improvements.

• Build and develop the function: Establish the processes, operating rhythms, and team structure needed to support NitraMart's next stage of growth.

Qualifications:

• Healthcare industry experience: Experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical distribution, medical supplies, or a related healthcare business. Familiarity with how healthcare products are sourced, sold, distributed, and managed is important.

• Commercial and operational leadership: Experience spanning sales, account management, and operations. You understand how to grow a business while building the infrastructure required to support that growth.

• Zero-to-one experience: A track record of building, launching, or scaling a new business, function, or operating model. You've worked through ambiguity and have experience solving problems where established processes didn't exist.

• Operational rigor: Strong process-building skills and the ability to identify inefficiencies, establish workflows, and improve execution across a complex operation.

• Data-driven decision-making: Comfortable working with analytics and using data to evaluate business performance, understand merchandising and pricing dynamics, and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Technology and automation mindset: An interest in modernizing legacy healthcare workflows and partnering with product and engineering teams to build more efficient, technology-enabled operations.

• Hands-on leadership: Comfortable operating at both the strategic and execution levels. You can set direction while remaining close to the details needed to get things done.

• Entrepreneurial mindset: Resourceful, adaptable, and comfortable taking ownership in a fast-moving startup environment.

What we offer:

  • Equity - Everyone at Nitra is an owner. When the company wins, you win.

  • Competitive Salary - You’re the best of the best, and your salary will reflect your experience and reward your contributions to Nitra.

  • Health Care - Your health comes first. We offer comprehensive health, vision, and dental insurance options.

  • Nitra maintains a hybrid work policy, with team members working from the office four days per week and Wednesdays designated as a work-from-home day.
