Full job description

Talkiatry is seeking a strategic and entrepreneurial Director, Commercial Enablement & Onboarding to build and lead our commercial enablement function. You'll support our commercial teams within the Mindshare Referrals program, one of the company's most important growth engines. Your initial focus will be developing onboarding and enablement programs for our rapidly expanding, field-based provider partnerships team, with the opportunity to scale these programs across the broader commercial organization over time. As the first hire in this function, you'll personally own the strategy, design, and delivery of training and ongoing development. You'll assess field capabilities, identify skill gaps, and build targeted programs, playbooks, and resources that accelerate productivity and strengthen performance. Working closely with commercial leaders across Talkiatry, you'll also reinforce our cultural values, foster team development and connection, and build the habits that drive long-term success. You're the ideal candidate if you've built and scaled sales enablement programs before, understand the realities of field sales, and enjoy helping people develop and succeed. You combine strong commercial judgment with a passion for coaching and teaching, and know how to turn field experience into engaging, practical training that builds confidence and drives behavior change. This is a unique opportunity to build a critical function from the ground up, partner closely with senior leadership, and shape how Talkiatry develops and enables its growing commercial organization.

About Talkiatry: Talkiatry is transforming mental health care by making high-quality psychiatry more accessible, human, and sustainable for both patients and clinicians. Co-founded by a patient and a triple-board-certified psychiatrist, we were built to solve one of healthcare’s most urgent challenges: millions of people struggle to access mental health care, while clinicians face growing administrative burden and burnout. Through our technology-powered, in-network platform, we’re changing that, creating a better experience for patients and empowering clinicians to focus on delivering exceptional care.

Today, Talkiatry is the largest dedicated psychiatry practice in the U.S., with 750+ psychiatrists, 250+ therapists, and more than two million patient visits delivered nationwide. At our scale, every innovation has real impact. Every workflow we improve, every technology solution we build, and every patient experience we redesign helps thousands of clinicians provide better care to hundreds of thousands of patients. We’re not just growing quickly — we’re redefining how behavioral healthcare is delivered in America.

Joining Talkiatry means joining a mission-driven team that is solving complex problems at scale, driving meaningful change in healthcare, and building the future of mental health care with compassion, innovation, and purpose.

You Will: Key Responsibilities

  • Build field enablement strategy: Assess field capabilities, performance trends, and skill gaps to identify priorities and develop an enablement roadmap that improves field team productivity and effectiveness

  • Own new-hire onboarding: Design and deliver structured onboarding, training, and certification programs that build foundational skills, establish field readiness, and accelerate new-hire ramp

  • Drive ongoing training and upskilling: Develop and deliver continuous learning programs that strengthen provider engagement, relationship building, account management, and other critical field capabilities

  • Develop scalable playbooks and tools: Build training content, practical resources, and standardized best practices that reinforce key skills and support consistent field execution

  • Partner with commercial leadership: Collaborate with commercial leaders to identify development needs, align training priorities, and equip managers with the resources to reinforce learning through ongoing coaching

  • Measure and improve enablement impact: Evaluate training effectiveness and field performance outcomes, using insights and feedback to continuously refine programs, accelerate time to productivity, and increase field team output

  • Reinforce culture and team connection: Embed Talkiatry's values into onboarding and ongoing development, and support team initiatives that strengthen culture, engagement, and connection across the commercial organization

You Are:

  • An experienced commercial enablement builder who has designed and scaled onboarding, training, and development programs from the ground up

  • Commercially minded, with a deep understanding of field sales and the skills that drive team performance

  • A strategic thinker who can identify skill gaps and develop targeted training strategies that improve field effectiveness

  • A hands-on, entrepreneurial operator who takes ownership and drives programs from concept through execution

  • An natural teacher and coach who can translate field experience into engaging, practical learning experiences

  • A collaborative partner who builds trust across commercial teams, incorporates feedback, and drives training adoption

You Have:

  • 7+ years of experience in sales enablement, field training, learning & development, or a related role supporting a commercial organization

  • Demonstrated experience designing, delivering, and scaling field sales onboarding and enablement programs, with strong skills in training development, facilitation, and program execution

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in a high-growth company or startup environment strongly preferred

  • Prior field-based sales, business development, or provider partnerships experience preferred; healthcare experience a plus

  • Familiarity with learning management systems, sales enablement platforms, or CRM tools such as Seismic, Salesforce, or HubSpot a plus

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree a plus

Our Team:

  • Remote flexibility or hybrid NYC role with opportunities for in-person collaboration

  • A high-impact opportunity to build and own Talkiatry's first dedicated field onboarding and enablement function

  • Direct exposure to senior leadership and close partnership with a rapidly growing field organization

  • The opportunity to shape how one of Talkiatry's most strategic growth programs develops and scales

  • A mission-driven culture grounded in purpose, accountability, and innovation

  • Cross-functional exposure and opportunities for professional growth and development

Why Talkiatry:

  • Top-notch team: we're a diverse, experienced group motivated to make a difference in mental health care

  • Collaborative environment: be part of building something from the ground up at a fast-paced startup

  • Excellent benefits: medical, dental, vision, effective day 1 of employment, 401K with match, generous PTO plus paid holidays, paid parental leave, and more!

  • Grow your career with us: hone your skills and build new ones with our Learning team as Talkiatry expands

  • It all comes back to care: we’re a mental health company, and we put our team’s well-being first
