Full job description

Job Description Summary

Your models will decide how the next generation of wind turbines is designed, and how quickly we fix problems in turbines already running in the field. At GE Vernova, you will help build a world that works by developing the multibody simulation (MBS) capabilities behind our wind turbine design. You will work with engineers across the globe to deliver cost-effective, high-performance products with bankable quality (quality that customers and financiers can trust). You will do it with room to experiment and improve how we design.

Our MBS team builds the system modeling framework used for three purposes:

•New Product Introduction (NPI)

•Site suitability assessments

•Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of issues found in operating turbines

You will help set the direction for validated, advanced simulation methods that fit into our wider system simulation toolchain. As a senior individual contributor, you will own this work from problem definition through to final recommendations.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and long-term ownership of advanced multibody simulation capabilities.

  • Plan and run simulation work with MBS tools to support NPI, site suitability assessments and RCA.

  • Turn field learnings and new technology into better models, simulation methods and design practices.

  • Present analysis strategy, results, conclusions and lessons learned in design reviews to the engineering owners who approve designs.

  • Develop and improve software tools, system models and design load calculation methods.

  • Build user interfaces, training materials and user guides for internal customers, and mentor colleagues who use them.

  • Define, run and review validation plans so models are credible and best practices are shared across teams.

Qualifications

You are an experienced simulation engineer who enjoys turning complex wind turbine behavior into clear design decisions, and who works well with colleagues around the world.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil or Systems Engineering, or a similar field. A renewable energy focus is a plus.

  • 5+ years of experience with multibody simulation codes such as Simpack, ADAMS or OpenFAST, including advanced model setup and troubleshooting.

  • Experience working with cross-functional and global teams.

  • Strong spoken and written English.

Preferred

  • Experience with ADAMS software.

  • Programming skills in Python, MATLAB or similar, including building, testing and maintaining production-quality code.

  • Experience owning wind turbine system simulation work, and an understanding of turbine operation and control strategies.

  • Experience leading process automation, continuous improvement or teams, and familiarity with SCRUM/Agile ways of working.
