Description
The Seller Services Accounting organization, part of Amazon Stores Accounting, owns the accounting for one of Amazon's largest and fastest-growing areas — the multi-billion-dollar balances that underpin our third-party marketplace. We support a continuous pipeline of new programs, business launches, and regulatory changes worldwide, and we are automation-first. We seek individuals who bring deep accounting experience and the entrepreneurial aptitude to build durable, long-term solutions at scale.
As the Principal Accounting Manager, you will serve as the single-threaded owner of process improvement, systemization, and technical accounting for Seller Services balances and activity. You will design automation and reconciliation solutions across multiple high-volume processes, own the accounting design for new program and geographic launches, set estimation methodology, and remediate technical debt. You will partner cross-functionally with Finance, Business, Tax, Technology, and operational teams to stand up new accounting frameworks, drive system implementations, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal controls.
The right individual will have exceptional technical accounting skills, a track record of delivering automation and process-improvement initiatives at scale, and solid business judgment capable of driving an organization to the right results. They will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment, and will be able to influence senior leaders through effective verbal and written communication and the presentation of clear alternatives. They must think and act both strategically and tactically while developing the technical capability of those around them.
