Full job description

Make a Lasting Impact in Pediatric Therapy

Our Children's Therapy Center is seeking a compassionate and creative Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. This is a meaningful opportunity to help children reach their fullest potential through personalized, play-based, and evidence-informed therapy. Responsibilities:

  • Maintains written documentation for all occupational therapy services rendered, including documentation of initial assessment, follow-up visits, and discharge summary consistent with department standards.

  • Communicates patient status to the referring physician and other health care team members.

  • Completes necessary charge and statistical information to accurately reflect the service rendered to the patient.

  • Schedules patients to achieve and maintain a level of productivity which meets or exceeds the standard established for the facility by the organization while ensuring delivery of quality patient care.

  • Provides verbal and/or written home instructions to patients and/or family members when applicable.

  • Performs occupational therapy assessment, reassessment, and treatment for pediatric patients referred by a physician to the clinic.

  • Develops a plan of care including goals and treatment plans in accordance with physician referral, nature of injury/illness and results of occupational therapy assessment.

  • Modifies or adjusts plan of care based on patient's response to treatment and/or changes in patient's status.

  • Rotates through selected treatment areas when necessary to facilitate organizational needs.

Preferred Qualifications: At least 1 year experience working as a Pediatric OT.

Schedule/Travel: Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8:30AM-7PM. 8 or 10 hour shifts may be needed. This position may be on call/scheduled in advance to cover medical leaves and vacations. Travel may be required to both of our Children's Therapy Centers - McMurray, PA (Waterdam Plaza) and Washington, PA (North Avenue).

  • Graduate of an accredited program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).

  • Prefer previous pediatric experience including student fieldwork.

  • Must possess knowledge of normal human growth and development over the lifespan.

  • Must be skilled in planning/organization, follow up/control, delegation, problem solving, self-development orientation, organizational behaviors/competencies, and stress tolerance. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)

  • Occupational Therapist (OT)

  • Clearances with renewal:

  • Act 31, 33, 34, & 73
