Full job description

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to build core backend systems, distributed services, and AI-powered workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Build backend services in Java and Python.
  • Develop microservices, APIs, and asynchronous workflows.
  • Build systems that integrate with AI agents and automation workflows.
  • Design scalable, secure, and observable backend platforms.
  • Work closely with product, domain experts, and customers.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to architecture decisions.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience with Java and Python.
  • Hands-on experience across a mix of Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Data JPA, and/or FastAPI services.
  • Experience with microservices and distributed systems.
  • Hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL, Apache Kafka, and API-first design.
  • Good to have Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in Security: JWT, OAuth2
  • Testing across Java and Python services using JUnit 5 Mockito, Pytest, integration testing, and TestContainers.
  • Observability using Prometheus, Grafana, logging, and distributed tracing.

Preferred:

  • Graph DB, Elasticsearch, and polyglot persistence.
  • Domain-Driven Design.
  • Workflow engines, orchestration systems, or saga patterns.
  • Experience building or integrating AI agents / LLM workflows.
  • GitOps and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Insurance domain knowledge (policies, claims, underwriting).
