Full job description
About Polymarket Polymarket is the world's largest prediction market platform. We enable individuals to express views on real-world events by trading on outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs. Built as a peer-to-peer marketplace with no centralized "house," Polymarket aggregates diverse opinions into transparent, market-based probabilities that reflect collective expectations about the future. We're growing fast, both in terms of volume ($21B traded in 2025) and adoption as an alternative news source. Our ambition is to become a ubiquitous beacon of truth in global media and we need your help adding fuel to the fire.
About the Role Polymarket US operates under CFTC oversight as a regulated prediction market, which means the compliance function carries real regulatory weight. The AML team is responsible for detecting and reporting suspicious activity across a user base that transacts through card, ACH and stablecoin rails, and the work requires both financial crime expertise and the ability to think clearly about a product that looks different from a traditional bank or broker. The team is small and the caseload is real. This hire matters because investigation quality is the core of what we do. You will own your casework, from initial review through SAR filing or documented declination, and your judgment will directly shape how the program holds up to regulatory scrutiny. You will also be a resource for the analysts around you, which means your standards become their standards. The environment moves fast. Polymarket is growing, the regulatory landscape for prediction markets is still developing, and the compliance program is being built to match that pace. If you want a role where the work is clearly defined and the edge cases are rare, this is not it. If you want to do serious investigative work at a company where compliance has a seat at the table, it is.
What You'll Do
-
Investigate escalated cases from transaction monitoring, fraud referrals, market surveillance and sanctions screening for signs of money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud and sanctions evasion.
-
Analyze funding, withdrawal and trading patterns across card, ACH and stablecoin rails, including linked account activity, to build a clear picture of what a customer is doing and why.
-
Prepare detailed Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) that meet regulatory requirements and internal policy, and document decisions when no SAR is needed.
-
Review customer identity and profile information to assess whether activity fits the customer's known background and stated purpose.
-
Support law enforcement requests, subpoenas and 314(a) reviews.
-
Perform quality control reviews of analyst work and provide direct, actionable feedback as needed.
-
Help analysts work through complex cases, and develop job aids and training materials that raise the baseline quality of the team's output.
What We're Looking For
-
4 or more years of hands-on AML investigation experience, including writing SARs that have been filed with FinCEN.
-
Strong working knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, SAR filing requirements and core AML regulations.
-
Demonstrated ability to analyze transaction activity across multiple payment rails and draw well-supported conclusions about the nature of that activity.
-
Clear written communication, specifically the ability to write SAR narratives that are accurate, organized and defensible.
-
Experience with investigative research tools such as CLEAR or LexisNexis, and with case management systems.
-
A track record of managing a caseload independently, meeting deadlines and maintaining quality under volume.
-
(Plus) Experience with blockchain analytics tools (such as Chainalysis, TRM or Elliptic) and on-chain tracing.
-
(Plus) Experience at an exchange, FCM, broker-dealer, prediction market, or sports betting or gaming operator.
-
(Plus) Familiarity with CFTC or NFA rules, or with derivatives and event contracts.
-
(Plus) Experience applying AI tools to investigation workflows, or a clear interest in doing so.
-
(Plus) CAMS certification or equivalent.
Benefits
-
Competitive salary & equity
-
Unlimited PTO
-
Full Health, Vision, & Dental coverage
-
401k match
-
Hardware setup: new MacBook Pro, big display, & accessories
