Position Summary:

The Skilled Tradesman is responsible for the work activities in one or more of the following skilled trades; HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, and Mechanical, Lock and Security. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain key and lock records

• Receive and process key requests

• Issue and receive keys

• Answer phones and assist customers

• Maintain key box records and access

• Complete workflows when employees terminate

• Back up University Locksmith as needed

• Assist in Warehouse as needed

• Assist with counting inventory for year-end audit

• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of Microsoft Office, general computer skills, FAMIS experience a plus, or the ability to learn computer programs as needed

Ability to communicate with a diverse customer base, good customer service skills, and have the ability to work with a diverse team

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday

7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Additional hours as requested and/or needed

This position is considered Essential Personnel in Facilities Management

Individuals who can operate/drive a vehicle with a manual transmission is preferred

One (1) year of Locksmith or Key Cutting experience is preferred

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a High School Diploma plus 1 year of locksmith or key cutting experience

Preferred to have a valid Driver's License
