Job Description

We're Looking for a Software Engineer-Other - Intermediate

Position type: Contract to Hire

Duration: 6+ Months

Job Responsibilities

Designs, develops, tests, and maintains production-grade software solutions using Java and/or Python on AWS.

Writes secure, high-quality code and participates in code reviews to ensure correctness, performance, and maintainability.

Troubleshoots issues across the application stack, including root-cause analysis and remediation for production incidents.

Contributes to system design discussions and implements well-structured services and APIs aligned to architecture standards.

Uses SDLC toolchains and automation (CI/CD, testing, infrastructure as code) to improve delivery speed and reliability.

Applies enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering tools appropriately (e.g., coding support, code review, test generation, troubleshooting) and validates outputs for security, correctness, and performance.

Collaborates effectively with cross-functional partners (product, QA, SRE/operations, security) to deliver features and improvements.

Documents technical decisions and supports knowledge sharing within the team.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience (or equivalent practical experience). Hands-on experience with application development, testing, and supporting services in production. Proficiency in Java and/or Python with strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and OO design. Working experience with AWS and deploying/operating backend services in cloud environments. Experience building and consuming APIs; familiarity with microservices and/or event-driven architectures. Experience with Terraform (or similar infrastructure-as-code tooling) and environment/workspace organization. Experience with backend data model design and working with databases (relational and/or NoSQL). Understanding of secure coding practices and how to build resilient services (logging/monitoring, error handling, performance). Ability to work independently on well-scoped problems while collaborating on more ambiguous designs.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

Experience with messaging/eventing systems (e.g., Kafka, SQS/SNS, Kinesis, MQ). Experience with Docker/containerization and CI/CD pipeline tooling. Experience with automated testing frameworks and practices (unit/integration testing, TDD familiarity). Familiarity with modern API design patterns (REST, gRPC) and observability practices (metrics, tracing). Qualified candidates should APPLY NOW for immediate consideration! PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range*:$ 80/Hr.

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
