Description
We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our growing organization in Lakeville, MA. The Assistant Controller plays a key role in supporting the Controller and ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and efficiency of the accounting operations. Partnering with finance and operational leaders to improve accounting processes, implement best practices, and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Responsibilities

Coordinate month-end closing activities – own the General Ledger. This includes preparation of journal entries, management reports and account reconciliations.

Assist with monthly forecast and annual budget processes.

Review and analyze trends related to product order activity, labor utilization, SG& A spend, inventory valuation accuracy.

Perform monthly, quarterly and annual income statement and balance sheet analytics, assist operations team on development of business, perform ad hoc analysis and support special projects as needed.

Assist with requirements of both internal and external auditors during quarterly and annual audits. Maintain compliance with US GAAP and all company accounting policies, as well as procedural documentation for compliance initiatives.

Collaborate with external CPA
Requirements

5-10 years of professional accounting experience

Strong hands-on experience with GL management and ME close processes

Proven expertise in preparing and reconciling bank accounts, inventory, fixed assets, etc.

Experience preparing and posting journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and proficiency with an ERP system
