Job Summary

Food Safety and Facilities Manager - NYC

About Restaurant Associates (RA): At Restaurant Associates, we are known for elevating workplace dining and hospitality to an art form. We pride ourselves on creating exceptional culinary experiences backed by uncompromising standards in safety, sanitation, and physical plant operations. If you are a hands-on operations professional who thrives on keeping high-end kitchens running safely and smoothly, we want you on our team.

Position Overview: As our Food Safety & Facilities Manager, you will be the linchpin of our Back-of-House operations in New York City. You’ll wear two vital hats: ensuring rigorous compliance with health codes and food safety standards, and overseeing physical facilities maintenance, kitchen equipment upkeep, and vendor relations. You will partner directly with Executive Chef and General Manager to ensure our spaces are safe, compliant, and operating at peak performance.

What You’ll Do:

  • Food Safety & Compliance: Oversee daily HACCP compliance and health department regulations across high-volume dining operations

  • Facilities & Equipment Maintenance: Manage routine and preventative maintenance for commercial kitchen equipment and refrigeration units

  • Vendor & Facilities Oversight: Act as the internal point of contact for external facilities management teams and service technicians; coordinate and monitor partner schedules to guarantee accountability and prevent operational downtime

  • Internal Audits & Safety Culture: Conduct regular safety and facility walkthroughs, drive corrective action plans, and ensure all NYC Health Department and OSHA standards are rigorously met or exceeded

  • Team Training: Coach culinary and operations staff on basic equipment upkeep, safety protocols, and proper sanitation habits

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience combining food service operations, safety compliance, and facilities/equipment maintenance—ideally within corporate dining, hotels, or high-volume restaurants

  • Technical Know-How: A strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment (ovens, walk-ins, dish machines, etc.)

  • Certifications: Active ServSafe Manager certification and NYC Food Protection Certificate (OSHA 10/30 is a strong plus)

  • Problem-Solver: A proactive leader who can troubleshoot facility issues quickly and keep a cool head during a busy service rush

Why Join the RA Family?

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package

  • Opportunities for career growth within a premier hospitality leader

  • A dynamic, fast-paced work environment in the heart of NYC

  • Culture that values teamwork, operational excellence, and innovation
