Full job description

Acclaim Technical Services, founded in 2000, is a leading cyber operations, intelligence solutions and operations, network infrastructure, engineering and business enablement and enterprise operations company supporting a wide range of U.S. Federal agencies. We are an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company, which is uncommon within our business sector. We see this as a significant strength, and it shows: ATS is consistently ranked as a top workplace among DC area firms and continues to grow.

ATS is seeking System Administrator to support a client’s operational requirements in a challenging, dynamic setting located in the Washington Metropolitan Area. The positions require an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.

What you’ll be doing

End-user and account support

  • Serve as the customer support IT point of contact: set up user accounts, reset passwords, and resolve day-to-day IT issues.

  • Apply system and security patches and run security and compliance scans.

  • Support day-to-day customer needs, including technical exchange meetings (TEMs) and digitizing material such as scanning hardcopy documents.

Data transfers

  • Act as the primary point of contact for moving data on and off customer systems and networks, including standalone machines and laptops.

Hardware and standalone systems

  • Assist with hardware recapitalization (tech refresh), setup, and replacement at the customer site, including monitors, workstations, and network switches.

  • Provide operations and maintenance (O&M) for standalone machines and laptops, including patching, required scans, and setup.

Network and system troubleshooting

  • Provide first-line support for network and system troubleshooting.

  • Act as the on-site point of contact coordinating customer and team responses during troubleshooting, outages, and upgrades.

  • Use approved notification systems (ticketing, email, etc.) to notify the customer and team about systems in or related to the supported programs.

  • Write incident reports and follow up during and after incidents, events, and responses.

Reporting and coordination

  • Coordinate any tasking outside this scope of work with Customer.

  • Perform additional IT support tasks as required.

Required skills

These are inferred from the scope of work; adjust years and clearance to match the contract.

  • 3+ years of hands-on IT help desk, desktop support, or systems administration experience.

  • Experience creating and managing user accounts and resetting passwords (e.g., Active Directory).

  • Experience applying OS and security patches on Windows workstations and laptops.

  • Experience running security and compliance scans and remediating findings.

  • Experience installing, configuring, and replacing workstations, monitors, and network switches.

  • Working knowledge of network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switching).

  • Experience using a ticketing system to log, track, and communicate issues.

  • Strong written communication for weekly status reports and incident reports.

  • Ability to work on site during 0700–1600 Monday through Friday and to provide on-call support.

  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment such as workstations and monitors.

Desired skills

  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II certification.

  • CompTIA A+ and/or Network+.

  • Experience supporting government or defense customers, including classified or isolated networks.

  • Familiarity with secure data transfer procedures between networks and standalone systems.

  • Experience with compliance and vulnerability scanning tools such as ACAS/Nessus or SCAP/STIG Viewer.

  • Experience with patch management tools such as WSUS, SCCM/MECM, or Intune.

  • Experience with hardware tech refresh projects and asset inventory.

  • Experience operating scanners and document digitization workflows.

  • Experience supporting meetings and A/V setup for technical exchange meetings.

  • Comfort working as a subcontractor alongside a prime contractor and the end customer.

  • Active security clearance, if required by the contract.
