Vice President for Finance and Administration

POSITION DETAILS

Queensborough Community College (QCC) seeks an exceptional leader to serve as its next Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA).

Reporting directly to the President and serving as a member of the President's Cabinet, the VPFA is more than the College's chief financial and administrative officer. This individual will serve as a strategic partner, trusted advisor, and servant leader who will steward the resources that make our mission possible.

Areas of Responsibility

The Vice President provides executive leadership and oversight for a broad portfolio that includes:

  • Finance and Budget Operations

  • Business and Fiscal Management

  • Accounting and Treasury Functions

  • Procurement and Asset Management

  • Accounts Payable and Bursar Operations

  • Facilities Management

  • Buildings and Grounds

  • Transportation Services

  • Public Safety and Security

  • Environmental Health and Safety

  • Capital Planning and Related Administrative Operations

The Vice President also serves as Treasurer and Board member of affiliated entities, supports the Queensborough Community College Fund, and represents the College on CUNY-wide councils, committees, and collaborative initiatives.

Work will be performed in a hybrid manner with a minimum of 70% onsite presence.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  1. Progressive executive leadership experience in finance, administration, operations, facilities, or related areas within a complex organization.

  2. Demonstrated success aligning financial planning, budget development, and resource allocation with institutional strategic priorities and organizational goals.

  3. Experience serving as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, contributing to organization-wide planning, decision-making, and change management initiatives.

  4. A record of building collaborative partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups, including shared governance bodies, employee groups, community partners, and external organizations.

  5. Demonstrated success improving organizational effectiveness through process improvement, systems development, innovation, and operational efficiencies.

  6. Experience leading and developing high-performing teams through a transparent, collaborative, and servant leadership approach that fosters trust, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  7. A demonstrated commitment to advancing student success and creating an environment where students, faculty, and staff can thrive.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary range : $200,000 - $220,000.

Salary commensurate with education and experience.
