Job Description:

Step into a hands‑on technical role where your precision craftsmanship, engineering insight, and passion for teaching directly support advanced systems across the Intelligence community. You will blend technical expertise with instructional excellence—building and aligning opto‑mechanical and fiber‑optic assemblies and turning that knowledge into high‑impact training for operators, maintainers, and mission partners.

Your work will strengthen the readiness of critical systems and the teams who rely on them. You’ll collaborate with engineers, program leadership, and customer stakeholders to shape accurate, engaging, and mission‑focused training experiences. As a key member of our engineering services team, your contributions will enhance system performance, user proficiency, and the success of fielded capabilities.

If you thrive where craftsmanship meets communication—and where your skills directly accelerate mission outcomes—this role offers the opportunity to lead with expertise and make a measurable impact.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build, align, and qualify precision opto‑mechanical and fiber‑optic assemblies using fine‑motor skills and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Perform system‑level integration and test activities to validate performance and prepare systems for training and deployment.

  • Develop and deliver clear, engaging technical training driven by engineering documentation, system requirements, and real‑world field insights.

  • Translate complex engineering concepts into practical training materials, lesson plans, and demonstrations that build operator confidence and capability.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to refine processes, enhance maintainability, and ensure training reflects current system updates.

  • Maintain specialized training and engineering equipment, ensuring calibration accuracy and operational readiness.

  • Support customer demonstrations, operator readiness events, and mission‑critical training engagements.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead hands‑on integration, alignment, and testing of opto‑mechanical and fiber‑optic systems to ensure reliable performance in demanding mission environments.

  • Deliver high‑quality technical training that enhances learner understanding, proficiency, and mission readiness.

  • Partner with engineering and program teams to identify process improvements and strengthen system usability and maintainability.

  • Develop instructional materials—including classroom content, procedures, and digital training aids—that clearly communicate system operation and intent.

  • Represent the team during system demonstrations, evaluations, and customer engagements, providing knowledgeable and professional technical support.

  • Maintain training and engineering assets with precision to meet performance and calibration standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with system integration and test using engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.

  • Demonstrated ability with precision mechanical assemblies, optical components, and/or fiber optic hardware.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to convert engineering information into clear, field‑ready training content.

  • Comfortable delivering instruction in classroom, lab, or operational settings.

  • Fine‑motor mechanical skills for small‑component and precision‑tool work.

  • Hands‑on fiber‑optic skills, including connectorization, polishing, inspection, and loss‑testing.

  • Background in electro‑optical systems, sensors, or other high‑reliability technical environments.

  • Familiarity with basic shop math and applied problem‑solving.

  • Instructor certifications (military or civilian) are a plus.

  • Experience developing technical documentation or interactive training materials.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with collaboration tools such as Confluence or Adobe products.

  • A proactive learning mindset and enthusiasm for helping others master complex systems.
