IT Manager/Director

Description We are looking for an experienced IT Manager/Director to lead technology operations and support a dynamic education-focused organization in Lincolnshire, Illinois. This role oversees end-user support, infrastructure, security, cloud platforms, and enterprise tools while guiding a high-performing IT team. The ideal candidate brings strong operational leadership, a hands-on approach to service delivery, and the ability to align technology initiatives with business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Lead daily IT support operations by monitoring service requests, resolving escalations, and strengthening response processes within the ticketing environment.

• Recruit, mentor, and direct IT staff, establishing clear priorities, performance expectations, and service goals across the team.

• Oversee device deployment and refresh programs for Windows and Mac users, including imaging standards, configuration control, and asset lifecycle coordination.

• Define business and technical needs for technology initiatives, then translate them into organized project plans, milestones, and delivery timelines.

• Administer and support cloud-based systems across Microsoft Azure and hybrid environments to ensure reliability, scalability, and secure access.

• Contribute to security and compliance efforts by enforcing controls, maintaining procedures, managing change practices, and preparing documentation for audits.

• Manage identity, access, and credential platforms such as Okta and Keeper while supporting broader network and security architecture initiatives.

• Maintain oversight of software entitlements, user access provisioning, and contract records to keep licensing accurate and current across the organization.

• Develop and maintain reporting solutions with Azure Fabric and Power BI to provide visibility into support performance, compliance status, and IT operational metrics.

• Drive automation initiatives for IT operations, including streamlined onboarding and offboarding workflows and modern zero-touch device provisioning solutions. Requirements • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership responsibility for support operations, infrastructure, and enterprise technology services.

• Demonstrated background managing IT teams, coaching staff, and holding service delivery functions accountable to defined standards.

• Strong technical knowledge of Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, configuration management, computer hardware, and backup technologies.

• Experience working with Cisco technologies and supporting secure networked environments.

• Familiarity with cybersecurity compliance frameworks, security controls, audit support, and policy-driven IT operations.

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure and hybrid cloud environments.

• Ability to manage budgets, vendor relationships, software licensing, and technology procurement decisions.

• Strong planning and communication skills with the ability to evaluate emerging technologies and support cross-functional business objectives. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
