Summary
This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the Certain Personnel/Modified Direct Hire Authority. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered. There may or may not be actual vacancies filled from this flyer. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer.
Duties
- You will serve as Senior IT Specialist for NLSC commands within assigned area of responsibility (AOR). Provides daily operational support to commands while functioning under the administrative and managerial oversight of IT Ops
- You will be responsible for IT-related duties as directed by the Supervisor and the on-site leadership as outlined in Section 3, Factor 2 below. Primarily responsible for IT customer support for the NLSC regional command to which they are assigned.
- You will ensure the organization's strategic plans, mission, vision, and values are communicated to other local IT professional(s), if applicable.
- You will integrate NLSC region’s IT strategy, goals, objectives, work plans, work products, and services. Executes duties related to adjustments, modifications, and revisions to meet objectives.
- You will identify, distribute, and balance workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill level, and/or occupational specialization.
- You will monitor and report on the status and progress of work, checking on work in progress and reviewing completed work to see that the supervisor’s instructions on work priorities, methods, deadlines, and quality have been met
- You will provide technical assistance to customers to minimize disruptions of computer operations, troubleshooting, escalation and tracking information technology problems.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing IT customer support, troubleshooting, and technical support functions. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Experience diagnosing and resolving complex IT hardware, software, operating system, network, and end-user support problems, including determining root causes and implementing or recommending corrective actions; 2)Experience supporting enterprise IT environments, including wired and wireless networks, user access, applications, peripherals, audiovisual and communications equipment, and related IT services; 3) Experience in applying cybersecurity requirements, policies, and practices to IT systems, user access, information protection, and technical support operations; 4) Experience coordinating IT support across customers, technical personnel, management and geographically disepersed organizations including prioritizing work, escalating problems, and communicating technical recommendations; 5) Demonstrated proficiency in the IT-related competencies of Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving. Experience that demonstrated accomplishment of computer project assignments that required a wide range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques pertinent to the position to be filled. This knowledge is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant analyzed a number of alternative approaches in the process of advising management concerning major aspects of ADP system design, such as what system interrelationships must be considered, or what operating mode, system software, and/or equipment configuration is most appropriate for a given project. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Salary Information by location: Great Lakes, IL: $100,509-$130,080 Jacksonville, FL & Pensacola, FL: $89,508-$116,362 Norfolk, VA: $90,838-$118,092 Pearl Harbor Naval Base, HI- $101.901-$131,422 (A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.64% will be added to stated salary) (COLA is offered ONLY for this location and is subject to change without notice) San Diego, CA: $102,246-$132,923 Washington, DC: $102,415-$133,142 Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees. Relocation expenses (i.e. PCS) or relocation incentives as described in 5 USC 5753 may be authorized in accordance with applicable travel regulations. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
