Job Description
We are seeking a senior, hands-on sales leader to lead our Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ) business. This is a senior regional leadership role with responsibility for both leading the organization and directly driving business in the market. The role will be responsible for delivering regional growth, defending and expanding our existing book of business, increasing customer adoption and spend across Hydrolix, and partnering with global executives to shape and execute the company’s APJ strategy. The successful candidate will be a player-coach: capable of leading and developing the regional sales organization while remaining personally engaged with strategic customers, major opportunities, executive relationships and key partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive APJ growth: Lead the regional sales organization to achieve and exceed revenue and growth targets while personally engaging in strategic opportunities and major customer pursuits.
- Defend and expand the business: Protect the existing book of business while directly driving customer adoption, usage and spend across HDX.
- Lead strategic customer relationships: Build trusted relationships with CIOs, CISOs and other senior technology leaders and personally engage in high-value strategic accounts and opportunities.
- Be hands-on in the market: Maintain an active presence with customers and prospects, participate in key sales engagements, help shape major deals and support account teams in closing strategic opportunities.
- Shape regional strategy: Partner with global executives to define APJ priorities, investment and go-to-market strategy while translating that strategy into field execution.
- Leverage the ecosystem: Build and utilize strong relationships with GSIs, SIs, MSSPs, cloud providers, technology partners and channel partners to expand market reach and generate growth.
- Build the team: Develop, coach and retain a high-performing APJ sales organization while establishing a strong culture of accountability and execution.
- Regional Scope & Travel: The role covers Japan, Australia & New Zealand, Southeast Asia, India and Greater China. Significant travel across APJ is expected. You should be comfortable spending substantial time in the market with customers, partners and sales teams, as well as travelling periodically to global headquarters and other international locations.
Qualifications and Skills
- A demonstrable record of owning and exceeding a regional sales quota in an enterprise data, security, or infrastructure software company
- Deep knowledge of the APAC enterprise technology landscape, including key verticals, buying behaviours, and partner ecosystems across ANZ, SEA, Japan, and/or Greater China
- Experience selling complex data infrastructure, security, or observability solutions to large enterprises.
- A track record of growing a business through both direct and partner-led routes to market, including MSSP, channel, or OEM models
- Strong commercial rigour – comfortable building and managing pipeline, calling the forecast honestly, and managing variance early
- Executive presence and communication skills: able to engage C-level buyers and align stakeholders across a matrixed global organisation
- Comfort operating with high autonomy in a lean, distributed team.
- Fluency in written and spoken English; additional regional language proficiency a strong advantage
Bonus Qualifications
- Akamai: Strong preference for candidates who have worked at Akamai or have deep knowledge of Akamai’s business, technology, customers and competitive landscape.
- Experience with MSSP, OEM, or managed services partner models in a data or security context
- Background in log management, SIEM, CDN analytics, or adjacent infrastructure categories
- Existing senior relationships across APAC enterprise and partner ecosystems
