Job Description
As a VP, User Experience (UX) Design Lead, you’ll help shape what’s next across the Chase Consumer Bank portfolio, leading complex initiatives from early exploration through delivery.
Many of the opportunities you’ll lead will be early-stage and zero-to-one, giving you the chance to think beyond today’s experiences and envision what comes next. The work often crosses LOBs, requiring you to navigate complexity, adapt as priorities shift, align competing priorities, and bring teams together around a shared direction.
You’ll partner closely with Research, Content, Product, Technology, and teams across the firm to identify opportunities, shape strategy, and bring ideas from concept to launch. The role requires someone equally comfortable setting the vision and getting hands-on, leading discovery, shaping future-state concepts, prototyping ideas, influencing senior stakeholders, and working alongside Product and Technology to bring solutions into production.
You’ll also help evolve how we design, exploring how AI can accelerate discovery, ideation, prototyping, and execution, while creating reusable approaches that help teams work in new and more effective ways.
Job Responsibilities
-
Partner with Product, Research, Content, and Technology to define experience strategy and product direction grounded in customer needs, business goals, and long-term opportunities.
-
Lead early-stage discovery and translate complex customer and business challenges into clear opportunities, concepts, and actionable recommendations.
-
Lead and facilitate stakeholder conversations that build alignment, accelerate decision-making, and move complex cross-LOB initiatives forward.
-
Design compelling end-to-end experiences across web, mobile, and omnichannel journeys, from early concepts and flows through high-fidelity prototypes.
-
Use research, customer insights, data, experimentation, and design thinking to challenge assumptions and create differentiated solutions.
-
Partner closely with Product and Technology throughout delivery to evaluate feasibility, refine experiences, and help successfully bring solutions into production.
-
Use AI-powered and emerging design tools to accelerate exploration, ideation, prototyping, and execution, while creating reusable approaches that improve how teams work.
-
Create compelling executive-ready narratives and presentations that bring customer needs, insights, concepts, and strategic recommendations to life.
-
Build strong partnerships across the organization, influencing stakeholders and creating clarity and momentum in fast-moving environments.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
-
8+ years of experience designing and delivering customer-facing digital products and experiences across web and mobile.
-
Demonstrated success leading complex, ambiguous initiatives, adapting to changing priorities, and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
-
Track record of taking work from discovery and zero-to-one concept development through delivery and production readiness
-
Advanced proficiency in Figma, including creating high-fidelity prototypes and communicating complex interaction models.
-
Deep knowledge of user-centered and human-centered design, with strong visual and interaction design skills across discovery, ideation, prototyping, testing, and iteration.
-
Experience using AI-powered tools such as Claude to accelerate research synthesis, exploration, concept development, prototyping, or design workflows.
-
Strong partnership skills, working closely with Product, Research, Content, and Technology throughout the product development lifecycle.
-
Strong storytelling, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder-influence skills, including communicating effectively with senior leaders.
-
Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on design execution in fast-moving environments.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
-
Background designing large-scale, omnichannel products and services.
-
Proven success leading zero-to-one initiatives, innovation programs, or future-state experience development.
-
Background designing connected experiences across complex customer journeys, touchpoints, and digital ecosystems.
-
Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
-
Hands-on experience with Git-based workflows, including working with branches and pull requests.
