Purpose
Provide entry-level technical design support for electrical engineering projects within the Oil & Gas sector. Assist engineers, designers, and project teams in the development of electrical drawings, schematics, layouts, and related project documentation while developing a working knowledge of electrical design principles, industry standards, and company procedures. Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to prepare and revise project deliverables, support project execution, and contribute to the successful delivery of electrical systems through accuracy, attention to detail, and collaboration. This role is expected to work under direct supervision while building technical proficiency and gaining experience in electrical engineering design and project delivery.

Responsibilities:
-
Assist with computer-aided design (CAD) drafting and preparation of electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, layouts, and related project documentation based on established standards, specifications, sketches, and vendor information.

Support engineers and senior designers in the development, revision, and coordination of project deliverables.
-
Assist with the preparation of power distribution, grounding, lighting, conduit, cable routing, and electrical equipment layouts.

Learn and apply company, client, and industry standards related to electrical engineering and Oil & Gas facility design.
-
Support equipment selection activities and preparation of associated technical documentation as directed.
-
Assist with the development and maintenance of electrical equipment, conduit, cable, and wiring bill of materials (BOMs).
-
Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from engineers and project team members.
-
Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure design consistency and project alignment.
-
Perform quality checks on assigned work to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.

Maintain project files, records, and documentation in accordance with company procedures.

Support engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities through preparation of design deliverables and technical documentation.

Assist with project scheduling and reporting activities by providing updates on assigned tasks and deliverables.

Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions regarding project progress and design solutions.

Complete assigned tasks under supervision while continuing to develop technical and professional skills.

Qualifications
-
Associate degree, technical certificate, or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering technology, engineering technology, drafting, design, or a related field preferred.

Entry level position, zero to two (0-2) years of relevant electrical design, CAD drafting, or engineering support experience a plus.

Basic knowledge of CAD software and engineering drafting principles.
-
Familiarity with electrical design concepts, electrical drawings, and engineering documentation preferred.

Basic understanding of power distribution, electrical equipment, conduit systems, and cable routing preferred.
-
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and related software applications.
-
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
-
Demonstrated ability to learn new software, systems, and technical concepts.
-
High level of personal integrity and professionalism.

Ability to work collaboratively and build effective working relationships.

Proficient in written and spoken English.
