Full job description

About Us Overjoy is an AI-native sales company for SMBs. We began as a sales platform for consumer brands, then expanded to running the full sales process end-to-end and selling the outcome. Every consumer brand needs a wholesale department: someone to find the right retailers, reach out, close the account, and keep it reordering. For most brands that department is too expensive to hire. Overjoy runs it for them with people, AI agents, and the software we spent years building for exactly this job. Over 800 brands like Nature's Path, Milk Bar, and Simply Gum use Overjoy to grow wholesale revenue. We’re backed by Bessemer, OSV, Floodgate and founders of Thumbtack, CareRev, Ando, and Unsupervised — and 6 of our own customers invested after using the product. The Role We’re hiring a Product Designer to own product design at Overjoy end-to-end. You’ll own problems, not just implementation — from understanding customer needs, to shaping product direction, to designing solutions that actually ship and get used. You’ll work directly with the founders and entire team to define what we build, how it works, and how customers experience AI-powered sales workflows day to day. This role is ideal for a designer who wants meaningful ownership over product outcomes and enjoys working in ambiguous, early-stage environments. What You’ll Work On

  • Own product design across Overjoy’s core surfaces (CRM, Inbox, Campaigns, Automations, AI workflows)

  • Partner with founders and engineers to define problems before jumping to solutions

  • Translate complex concepts (AI agents, automations, data workflows) into clear, usable experiences

  • Drive user research, customer interviews, and synthesis — especially in ambiguous areas

  • Design flows, wireframes, high-fidelity UI, and prototypes

  • Set and evolve Overjoy’s product design principles and quality bar

  • Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure thoughtful, high-quality execution

  • Provide direction and feedback to more execution-focused design roles (e.g. UI/UX Engineer)

You Might Be a Fit If You

  • Have experience owning meaningful parts of a product from problem definition to launch

  • Care deeply about why a product should exist, not just how it looks

  • Are comfortable operating with ambiguity and limited direction

  • Have strong product judgment and can clearly explain tradeoffs

  • Balance usability, aesthetics, and business impact

  • Communicate well with engineers and enjoy working closely with them

  • Want influence over product direction, not just design output

Requirements

  • 3+ years of product design experience on web or SaaS products

  • Strong portfolio showing end-to-end product thinking (not just polished UI)

  • Experience working closely with engineering in fast-moving teams

  • Fluency with modern design tools

  • Comfort operating in early-stage, high-ownership environments

Extra Points For

  • Experience designing complex B2B or workflow-heavy products

  • Experience designing AI-powered or data-heavy interfaces

  • Early-stage startup experience

  • Strong opinions about product quality and usability

Why Overjoy? Build for a real problem in a wildly underserved market Brand founders with multiple exits tell us, “I wish I had Overjoy when I launched my first brand.” Wholesale has always been the most expensive channel for a small brand to staff. We're making it the cheapest. Agents that do the work, not features that help We spent years building sales tools for people. It turns out agents learn and use those tools better and faster than any person could. Our customers were limited by time and headcount; now they get an AI team instead of one overworked founder. You'll design the surfaces those agents and our services team work in, and you'll see them used by real brands every day. You're joining the ground floor You’ll shape our architecture, product, and engineering culture from day one and define what Overjoy looks like for years to come. Our customers love us More than 5 of our customers have started agencies as a side business helping others how to use Overjoy. One joined our team full-time! We're built to last We run a capital-efficient business with a clear path to profitability, so you're building on a foundation, not a countdown. Why You Shouldn’t Join This isn’t a 9-to-5 job We’re doing hard things with a small team, and it’s intense. We won’t sugarcoat that. You’ll take full ownership and responsibility You won’t just execute. You’ll identify problems, shape solutions, and be accountable for what you build. That level of autonomy can be exciting, but also stressful — and it’s not for everyone. You’ll wear a lot of hats You’ll be expected to step outside of your lane — helping with support, onboarding, and product QA — often with little guidance. If you prefer clearly defined roles and boundaries, this might not be the right environment. Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive salary + meaningful equity

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance (U.S.)

  • Free lunch & dinner around the office

  • Generous budget for laptops, monitors, and other equipment
