Project Engineer (Structural Bridge)

This position requires 5+ years of experience. \ POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: - Follow Bridge Practice production and design standards and procedures as delegated by the Project Manager. - Perform and check structural engineering calculations of bridges, retaining walls, and other transportation infrastructure structures using company, client, and industry standards. - Participate in the preparation and checking of structural construction drawings created by teammates to meet firm and client requirements. - Develop and check cost estimates. - Participate in the preparation of reports and studies. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: - Licensed Professional Engineer - Licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois (preferred) - Experience with design and detailing of IDOT or Illinois Tollway bridge projects (firm requirement) - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Proficient in MicroStation - Knowledge of Structural Bridge Design Software - Previous bridge inspection experience (preferred) - Ability to traverse structural sites, including heights and rough terrain - Must possess a valid drivers license - Must complete a background check EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\ \ Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering\ Master of Science in Civil Engineering (preferred)\ \ SALARY RANGE:\ \ Horner & Shifrin, Inc. offers a comprehensive total rewards package and is committed to fair, competitive, market-based compensation.
