Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Hauppauge, NY (Onsite)
Schedule: 9/80 Work Schedule (Enjoy Every Other Friday Off)
An award-winning engineering services company is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing team in Hauppauge, NY. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex design challenges, working directly with clients, and contributing to a variety of innovative projects across multiple industries.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in mechanical design, machine design, SolidWorks, and ANSYS, along with the ability to take projects from concept through manufacturing. This position offers exposure to diverse engineering challenges while working in a collaborative, family-oriented environment that values both technical excellence and team culture.
Key Responsibilities

Design mechanical systems, assemblies, and machined components using SolidWorks.

Create production-ready 3D models and detailed 2D drawings for manufacturing and assembly.

Perform structural and thermal analysis using ANSYS or similar FEA software to validate and optimize designs.

Apply sound machine design principles to improve product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

Collaborate with manufacturing, electrical, and controls engineering teams throughout project execution.

Participate in design reviews and implement feedback to improve designs and processes.
-
Support new product development efforts from concept through prototype and production.

Assist with prototype development, testing, troubleshooting, and design modifications.

Maintain engineering documentation and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Interface directly with client teams and contribute to multiple ongoing engineering projects.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
-
7+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably involving machinery, industrial equipment, or custom engineered products.

Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks for 3D modeling and drafting.
-
Hands-on experience performing FEA using ANSYS or similar simulation tools.

Strong knowledge of machine design, materials, manufacturing processes, and GD&T.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with injection mold design.

Engineering consulting or engineering services experience.

Experience supporting multiple clients and projects simultaneously.

Background in new product development from concept through production launch.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hauppauge, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
