Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Transplant Financial Coordinator, you will maximize reimbursement for transplant services.

Every day you will manage payer referrals and authorizations, provide patient financial counseling, handle patient registration, and complete reimbursement analysis.

To be successful in this role, you will bring transplant financial counseling and reimbursement expertise.

  • Maximizes reimbursement for transplant services for kidney recipients and live donors through payor referral / authorization management. Maintains current payer profile and/or authorization for all patients listed for transplant.

  • Analyzes reimbursements to ensure that maximum payments were received from the right payer for transplant services rendered, and to ensure compliance with the Federal Register’s rules and regulations for organ acquisition.

  • Ensures accurate billing processes through pre-registration of kidney recipients and live donors.

  • Reviews purchased services invoices for appropriateness; approves for payment and documents according to department policy and procedure.

  • Provides financial counseling to kidney recipients and live donors.

  • Provides staff support, training and education; completes miscellaneous tasks, special projects.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or

  • High School GED General Studies, upon hire and

  • 4-6 years 5 years experience in outpatient group medical practice and/or inpatient acute care setting, with progressively increasing scope of administrative experience and responsibilities, including patient intake, medical terminology, CPT & ICD coding, third party payer referrals and authorizations, third party payer billing and reimbursement, and managed care experience., upon hire and

  • None, upon hire

Preferred

  • Bachelors Other, upon hire and

  • Transplant administrative experience., upon hire

Pay Range

$27.25 - $38.49 /hour
