The role will play a key part in financial statement preparation, budget monitoring, compliance reporting, and ongoing support of accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead monthly closing activities, including timely completion and review of balance sheet, income statement, and bank account reconciliations.

  • Prepare and post recurring and nonrecurring journal entries, ensuring transactions are recorded correctly and align with accounting standards.

  • Generate monthly financial packages, including budget-to-actual analysis, treasurer reporting, and other scheduled management reports.

  • Process banking activity such as cash entries and transfers while maintaining accurate real-time records.

  • Track spending against approved budgets, investigate variances, and communicate notable issues to appropriate internal stakeholders.

  • Maintain fixed asset records by capitalizing acquisitions, calculating depreciation, and recording disposals for both tangible and intangible assets.

  • Support payroll accounting through review, submission coordination, and preparation of related deduction entries and postings.

  • Assist with quarterly tax filings, annual audit support, regulatory financial submissions, and seasonal budget preparation activities.

  • Contribute to internal audit reporting, recommend process improvements, and provide accounting support for system or process-related changes as assigned.

Requirements • Demonstrated experience in month-end close, general ledger accounting, and preparation of journal entries.

  • Strong background in account reconciliations, including detailed bank reconciliation work.

  • Ability to prepare financial statements, management reports, and budget variance analyses with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort learning or working within organization-specific accounting systems.

  • Knowledge of fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and asset disposal procedures.

  • Experience supporting payroll-related accounting entries, tax filings, audits, and compliance reporting.

  • Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage deadlines in an on-site accounting environment.
