Procurement Specialist

Description We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to support purchasing and leasing activities for a busy operation in Skowhegan, Maine. This is a Long-term Contract opportunity that will focus on improving day-to-day procurement efficiency, maintaining vendor documentation, and coordinating with suppliers and contractors. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in corporate purchasing, contract administration, and order management while helping the team stay organized during a period of reduced staffing.

Responsibilities:

• Manage purchasing and leasing requests for equipment, materials, and services while ensuring timely processing and accurate documentation.

• Prepare, review, and track purchase orders to support ongoing operational needs and maintain procurement continuity.

• Contact vendors and contractors to obtain updated rate sheets, pricing details, and supporting contract information.

• Help oversee lease-related spending and purchasing activity for a large volume of equipment assets.

• Maintain organized procurement records in SharePoint and other internal systems to improve document access and compliance tracking.

• Verify that supplier insurance certificates are current, complete, and properly filed, and follow up on outstanding items as needed.

• Support contract administration activities, including monitoring agreement terms and assisting with renewals for multi-year arrangements.

• Provide day-to-day procurement support to help address workload gaps within an understaffed team.

• Use Excel and other standard business tools to monitor purchasing activity, organize data, and support reporting needs. Requirements • Experience in corporate procurement, purchasing operations, or supply chain support roles.

• Working knowledge of purchase order processing, buying procedures, and vendor coordination.

• Familiarity with contract negotiation support and administration of supplier or contractor agreements.

• Ability to manage leasing-related procurement activity and track associated spending accurately.

• Proficiency with SharePoint, Excel, and general procurement documentation systems.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Clear communication skills for working with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
