Salary Range: $22.00 To $26.40 Hourly

The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism. This role supports day-to-day HR operations including employee records administration, onboarding, timekeeping processes, and employee services. The Human Resources Assistant serves as a resource to employees and helps ensure HR processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic and tactical work for which this position is accountable:

  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of the HR department.

  • Prepare new hire packets and related onboarding materials.

  • Coordinate and assist with new hire orientation and onboarding activities.

  • Prepare, review, and audit completed new hire packets to ensure all required documentation is accurate and complete before returning them to KFFE.

  • Follow up with employees regarding outstanding or incomplete forms, documentation, or annual training.

  • Review timecard reports, identify discrepancies, and coordinate follow-up to support payroll accuracy.

  • Respond to employee questions and provide general HR assistance in a professional and timely manner.

  • Provide support to employees regarding ADP timekeeping, self-service, and employee information functions.

  • Maintain accurate and organized employee documentation and records.

  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and business information.

  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team as needed.

  • Support special projects and other HR initiatives as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Associate's degree or coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of two years of administrative, human resources, recruiting, payroll, customer service, or related experience preferred.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced operational environment preferred.

  • Experience using HRIS, payroll, applicant tracking, or workforce management systems preferred.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position primarily works in an office environment but may regularly visit other farm areas, including animal facilities, processing areas, crop fields, warehouses, shops, and other operational areas.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will:

  • Sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach.

  • Perform repetitive hand and finger movements associated with typing, data entry, writing and document handling.

  • Move throughout the workplace and farm property as needed.

  • See, talk, and hear.

  • May occasionally walk on uneven, wet, muddy, or outdoor terrain; climb stairs; and navigate around agricultural equipment, vehicles, animals, and other operational equipment.

  • May occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 25 pounds.

  • May drive or ride in a vehicle for multiple hours at a time.

Work is performed primarily in an office environment, with occasional work in farm or operational settings. In those settings, the employee may be exposed to varying weather conditions, dust, dirt, manure, noise, odors, agricultural chemicals, machinery, animals, and other typical farm conditions. Biosecurity measures must be followed, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn when required.

The employee must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
