Endpoint / Modern Workplace Engineer

Description

We are seeking an experienced Endpoint / Modern Workplace Engineer to join a growing IT team in Phoenix. This role serves as the bridge between enterprise support operations and infrastructure engineering, focusing on the deployment, configuration, security, and lifecycle management of end-user devices across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in modern endpoint management technologies, including Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft 365. This individual will drive endpoint strategy, automation, compliance, and security initiatives while ensuring a seamless end-user experience across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise endpoint solutions using Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot.

• Administer and support Microsoft Entra ID, device enrollment, identity management, and access controls.

• Configure and maintain device compliance policies, configuration profiles, and security baselines.

• Manage endpoint security tools, including Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.

• Implement and support Conditional Access policies to strengthen security and governance.

• Package, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications across Windows endpoints.

• Support and optimize Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM) environments and co-management initiatives.

• Develop PowerShell scripts to automate endpoint administration, software deployment, reporting, and maintenance tasks.

• Monitor endpoint health, compliance, patching, and performance across the environment.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and service desk teams to improve endpoint management processes.

• Lead device lifecycle initiatives, including provisioning, deployment, upgrades, refreshes, and decommissioning.

• Participate in modernization projects involving Microsoft 365 technologies and workplace transformation initiatives.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operating procedures.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience supporting and engineering enterprise endpoint environments.

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot.

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365 administration.

• Experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and endpoint security best practices.

• Proficiency with PowerShell scripting and automation.

• Experience managing SCCM/Configuration Manager environments.

• Knowledge of application packaging and software deployment methodologies.

• Familiarity with device compliance frameworks and endpoint governance.

• Experience implementing and supporting Conditional Access policies.

• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting hybrid Azure AD/Entra ID environments.

• Knowledge of endpoint security and Zero Trust principles.

• Experience with mobile device management (MDM) and modern workplace technologies.

• Microsoft certifications such as:

• Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate

• Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert

• Azure Administrator Associate
