Full job description
Location: Bentonville, AR
About Oriient At Oriient, we are building the world's most advanced and scalable Indoor GPS technology. We are a VC-backed company with paying customers and very rapid growth. Oriient empowers customers, including retailers, smart buildings, hospitals and healthcare centers, shopping malls, campuses, and other verticals, with innovative indoor location experiences. Our scalable plug and play solution eliminates the need for hardware, making implementation seamless and cost-effective.
Job Summary We are seeking a person with hands-on development experience, who enjoys working directly with customers, to join our team as an integration engineer. You will be the technical owner of Oriient's integrations with our US customers, with a focus on our major customer. You will work daily with their developers and managers, explain how our indoor location SDK works, and help them build outstanding indoor navigation experiences for people around the world. You will support our US customers' development processes, deeply understand their needs and use cases, and act as the bridge between them and Oriient's teams. This is a technical role, not a pre-sales role. About half your time will be spent working directly with customers, and the rest with our R&D teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Explain how the Oriient mobile SDK (iOS and Android) works. For customer developers, cover architecture, lifecycle, permissions and sensors. For managers and executives, give a high-level view of the technology and its value.
- Act as the primary technical contact for our US customers. Analyze SDK and app logs to find the root cause of integration and positioning issues, and tell customer app bugs apart from SDK issues.
- Review customers' code and help them architect their apps and flows to get the most out of Oriient technologies. Write working example code and sample apps for their developers.
- Create integration guides and documentation based on real customer scenarios.
- Work closely with our R&D teams (mainly mobile). Report bugs with clear reproduction details, relay customer feedback and requests, and integrate new capabilities and fixes into customers' integrations.
- Work with engineering, marketing, sales and customer success teams to ensure alignment and successful product launches.
- Train and support internal teams and customers to drive product adoption.
- Join customer meetings, be available onsite and stay familiar with customers' roadmaps and plans. Gain a deep understanding of their needs, opportunities and pain points.
Qualifications
- Technical background (required): Hands-on development experience, preferably in the mobile field (iOS and/or Android).
- Debugging and analytical skills (required): Comfortable reading logs and stack traces and finding root causes. Able to interpret data and make data-driven decisions to improve the product.
- Customer-facing skills: Proven ability to explain technical topics clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders, and to support customers through complex integrations. Customer-facing experience is an advantage.
- Documentation and communication: Experience writing detailed integration guides and documentation. Fluent English, spoken and written.
- Team player: Works well in a collaborative team, takes initiative, and builds strong, productive relationships.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field is preferred.
Advantages (One or More)
- Experience with mobile SDK or API products
- Familiarity with BLE, Wi-Fi or sensor-based technologies
- Familiarity with BI and analytics tools
- Experience working with enterprise customers
What We Offer
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- A real-world product used at scale. You will see how indoor positioning is integrated across large deployments and have a say in what we build next.
- Ownership of the technical relationship with our US customers, including our flagship enterprise customer.
- Career growth in mobile, solutions and product.
- Flexible working hours and remote work options, with onsite days at the customer.
