Summary
About the Position: This position is located in the U.S. Army Corps Of Engineers, Galveston District, Galveston Engineer & Construction Division, located in Galveston, TX.
Duties
- Monitors charges made to multiple complex, large-scale (multi-billion dollar) projects across the Engineering and Construction Division.
- Responsible for oversight management of all aspects of the budget functions for Engineering and Construction Division including coordination of all financial actitives with agency elements.
- Review budget estimates prepared by project teams to ensure completeness and adequacy to implement projects.
- Create/Monitor labor charge codes for team members across multiple organizations within the agency.
- Utilizes automated systems such as the Corps of Engineers Financial Management System (CEFMS), Resident Manager Systems (RMS), Standard Procurement System (SPS), and other Corps of Engineers automated information systems, as applicable.
- Conducts on-going financial evaluations of multiple (multi-billion dollar) projects to meet the Program's goals and objectives.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Reviewing budget estimates for civil projects to ensure adequacy of documentation and sufficiency of information to aid management in budget approval decisions. 2) Monitoring and tracking the execution of large (multi-million dollar) project finances through the review of actual expenditures in comparison to projected budgets. AND 3) Utilizing various automated financial systems such as Primavera's P6, the Corps of Engineers Financial Management System (CEFMS), Resident Manager Systems (RMS), Primavera Project (P3), Microsoft Project, Standard Procurement System (SPS), and planning, programs, project management systems (P2), to manage and track the budget of large (multi-million dollar) projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

You must meet or exceed the cut score to be considered. You will not be considered for the position if you score below the cut score or fail to complete the assessment.
