Description

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring skilled Connecticut Licensed Sheet Metal Journeyman for projects located in or around New London County, CT. This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is up to $47/hour based on experience and skill level. If you are a Sheet Metal Technician and want to work alongside other proven craftsmen who emphasize safety, productivity and superior craftsmanship, this is your chance to advance your career!

Job Scope:

Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork and HVAC components
Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and project specifications
Measure, cut, bend, shape, and fasten sheet metal using appropriate tools and equipment
Install ductwork, fittings, dampers, hangers, supports, and related HVAC components
Seal ductwork joints and connections to meet project specifications
Coordinate with HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, general contractors, and other trades
Inspect installations for proper alignment, fit, quality, and code compliance
Follow OSHA requirements, site safety rules, and proper PPE procedures
Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area
Meet project deadlines while maintaining quality workmanship

Requirements:

Current Connecticut SM1 or SM2 Sheet Metal License
Journeyman-level sheet metal experience in commercial construction or HVAC installation
Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and mechanical drawings
Proficiency with sheet metal hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
Knowledge of ductwork installation, layout, fittings, and HVAC systems
Ability to work independently and as part of a construction crew
Reliable transportation and ability to report to assigned job sites
Ability to lift materials, work from ladders or lifts, and perform physically demanding construction tasks
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and attendance
