Responsibilities

End-to-End Ownership of Risk & Controls

  • Lead the execution and ongoing enhancement of the first-line risk and control framework across Strategy, Corporate M&A, Investor Relations and Executive Scorecards.

  • Assess business processes, risks and controls to identify gaps, evaluate control effectiveness and drive sustainable enhancements.

  • Identify emerging risks, recurring control weaknesses and opportunities to strengthen the control environment through process, governance or technology improvements.

  • Serve as a trusted risk and controls advisor to the Business Execution Lead and senior leadership.

  • Act as the central Business Execution partner to Finance Risk and Control Management and other independent control functions, while reinforcing clear first-line accountability.

Manager’s Control Assessment (MCA)

  • Lead the execution, governance and ongoing enhancement of the Manager’s Control Assessment across the supported functions.

  • Ensure processes, risks, controls, monitoring activities and assessments are appropriately identified, documented and maintained.

  • Direct periodic MCA activities, including risk and control assessments, monitoring, testing, attestations and quality reviews.

  • Coordinated MCA documentation, control descriptions, testing approaches and supporting evidence.

  • Analyze MCA results and control performance to identify gaps, adverse trends and areas requiring remediation or management attention.

  • Drive consistent MCA practices and documentation standards across the supported functions.

Control Monitoring, Testing & Policy Governance

  • Facilitate the monitoring and testing of controls, determine the significance of deficiencies and drive appropriate corrective actions.

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable Citi policies, standards and procedures owned by the functions, including but not limited to periodic reviews and updates.

  • Lead business preparation and responses for Internal Audit and other independent reviews.

  • Ensure compliance with third-party management deliverables across the functions’ vendors, including rating agencies.

Governance, Reporting & Risk Culture

  • Establish and lead risk and control governance routines for the supported teams.

  • Lead the preparation and presentation of risk and control updates for senior leadership and relevant governance forums.

  • Oversee the portfolio of open issues, remediation commitments, dependencies and upcoming deadlines.

  • Escalate delays, missed milestones and material execution risks to the Business Execution Lead and senior leadership.

  • Maintain a forward-looking view of key assessments, attestations, policy requirements, independent reviews and remediation milestones.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize and automate risk and control processes without reducing control effectiveness.

  • Promote a strong risk and control culture and reinforce accountability for effective control execution.

  • Experience supporting audits, control reviews, compliance reviews, regulatory assessments or other assurance activities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, synthesize information and communicate implications to senior stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and drive execution across a complex stakeholder environment without direct authority

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing concise management reporting and materials for senior leadership

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and a demonstrated commitment to high-quality and sustainable execution
