Job Focus Area Within the Division of Educator Talent and Workforce Development, a key priority is to strengthen and support Louisiana’s teacher pipeline by creating meaningful opportunities for educators to learn, collaborate, develop their instructional capacity, and grow professionally. The Education Consultant 4 will serve as the statewide expert in teacher development, providing leadership and strategic direction to initiatives that support aspiring, new, and early-career teachers across Louisiana. This position will lead efforts to expand and strengthen high-quality development opportunities that build the knowledge, skills, and confidence educators need to be successful in the classroom and throughout their careers. The Education Consultant 4 will collaborate with educators, school and system leaders, educator preparation programs, and other stakeholders to design, implement, and continuously improve programs and resources that support teacher growth, effectiveness, career advancement, and retention. Through strategic leadership, innovation, and collaboration, this role will contribute to building a strong, sustainable teacher workforce that is prepared to meet the needs of Louisiana students and schools. Eight years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience plus five years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR

A bachelor's degree plus five years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR

Job Duties: As an Education Consultant 4, you will lead statewide programs that support the recruitment, development, and retention of teachers. In this role, you will:

• Manage statewide initiatives supporting new teachers, mentor teachers, teacher residents, and registered teacher apprentices
• Develop guidance, professional learning modules, presentations, and practical resources for school system leaders and educators
• Provide technical assistance to school systems implementing teacher induction, mentoring, apprenticeship, and retention programs
• Plan and facilitate virtual and in-person trainings, monthly support calls, workgroups, and stakeholder meetings
• Coordinate statewide events and recognition programs, including the New Teacher Summer Kick-Off and New Teacher of the Year selection process
• Manage program timelines, budgets, grants, data collections, and other deliverables while balancing multiple projects and deadlines
• Monitor program participation, implementation, and outcomes and use the results to recommend improvements
• Research education policies, laws, and effective practices to develop program guidance and support statewide decision-making
• Prepare clear communications, reports, updates, and recommendations for school systems and external partners

Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected. Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group. **Note regarding the advertised pay range: The Education Consultant 4 position has a special entrance rate (SER) of $31.25 hourly,$2,500 biweekly that is above the minimum hire rate for these positions. The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
