Full job description

This position is located in Baton Rouge, LA Office of Assessment, Accountability, and Analytics

Job Focus Area This position serves as the primary or secondary support contact for multiple LDOE Statewide data systems. The data systems support encompasses, but is not limited to, the management of all application enhancements and modifications to their given systems, communication and training with all of the local Education Agencies (LEAs) and associated contacts, and ensuring that the data is as error-free and correct as possible once a system collection closes. This position assists and advises clients at the local and state level with collection, management, and reporting of education-related information such as defining data elements/indicators and developing data user guides/dictionaries.This role also serves as project leader in the design, development, and maintenance of relevant training resources; provides on-going assistance to LEAs, the Legislature, the BESE, and other divisions within the Department; represents the Department and participates in meetings, conferences, and workshops at the local, state, and national level. Three years of experience in data management; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR

A bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

  • Creates and maintains data collection standard operating procedures
  • Hosts critical support 1:1 meetings
  • Maintains accurate documentation of support and communication
  • Facilitates professional learning opportunities for internal and external stakeholders
  • Creates and maintains user guides, newsletters, and webinar decks

Research

  • Serves as a subject matter expert on Agency data systems
  • Designs analytical methods and creates reports for internal stakeholders
  • Promotes cross-team collaboration through knowledge sharing

Technical Support

  • Supports the field through system support tickets
  • Conducts targeted phone calls to support assigned district stakeholders

Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.

Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group. As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as an Education Information Consultant 1/2/3, depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.

Work Schedule: Work hours are Monday - Friday. Work hours will be determined.

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of$20.08/hour.

Education Information Consultant 2 (TS-309) Hourly: $22.99– $35.33 Biweekly: $1,838.80 – $2,826.40 Annually: $47,809-$73,486 Education Information Consultant 3 (TS-311) Hourly: $26.32 – $40.45 Biweekly: $2105.20– $3,236.00 Annually: $54,735 – $84,136
