Sr. Buyer

Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Buyer to support procurement operations for a Contract position based in Henderson, Minnesota. This role focuses on sourcing materials, managing vendor relationships, and helping ensure purchasing activities align with production and business needs. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, attention to detail, and a practical understanding of purchasing processes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end purchasing activities for assigned materials, from identifying needs through order placement and follow-up.

• Evaluate supplier options, negotiate terms when appropriate, and help maintain reliable vendor partnerships that support operational goals.

• Monitor inventory levels and purchasing trends to help ensure materials are available when needed without creating excess stock.

• Prepare and maintain purchase orders, pricing records, and other procurement documentation with a high level of accuracy.

• Coordinate with internal teams such as operations, planning, and finance to align purchasing decisions with demand and budget expectations.

• Track supplier performance related to delivery, quality, and responsiveness, and address issues to reduce disruptions.

• Support procurement reporting and analysis by reviewing purchasing data, identifying patterns, and recommending improvements.

• Assist with purchasing process updates or system-related changes as needed to maintain continuity and efficiency in procurement operations

Requirements • Proven experience in a buyer or senior buyer role with responsibility for purchasing materials and managing procurement activities.

• Strong knowledge of purchasing functions, supplier coordination, and order management processes.

• Ability to analyze purchasing data, compare vendor options, and make sound sourcing decisions.

• Experience working with procurement systems, spreadsheets, and standard purchasing documentation.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across internal teams and external suppliers.

• High level of organization and attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and follow-through.
