Full job description
Company Overview Blue Energy is transforming how nuclear power gets built. Instead of constructing each plant on-site from scratch - a process that takes 10-15 years and is too expensive and unpredictable to finance - we build our plants like ships: in a factory, on an assembly line, then transport and assemble them at the site. This cuts costs by over 60% and brings plants online in just three years. We also pair natural gas with nuclear at our sites, so customers can start receiving power from gas turbines right away and then switch over to clean nuclear power once it comes online - getting energy to the grid faster while nuclear is being built. Our mission is to make nuclear energy abundant, affordable, and repeatable at global scale. We use proven, already-approved reactor designs and work with existing nuclear and industrial sites, giving us a faster path to regulatory approval. By manufacturing this way, we put nuclear power on the same cost-reduction curve that has made wind, solar, and batteries cheaper every year.
Role Summary Hyperscalers are a core component of Blue Energy’s near-term commercial strategy, alongside the broader data center and power ecosystem including colocation providers, neoclouds, data center developers, utilities, and other large-load customers and partners. These organizations need scalable, firm power and commercial structures that match how they develop, procure, and serve load. They are sophisticated counterparties, and transacting with them requires a deep understanding of their needs, supported by rigorous analysis, polished materials, and consistent, rapid execution across several accounts at once. We are hiring a Principal, Origination & Customer Products to support that execution. This role builds the analysis and materials behind customer and partner conversations, runs the day-to-day of active deals, and helps design the products Blue Energy offers beyond the core power agreement. The Principal works directly with the lead on Blue Energy’s hyperscaler and broader data center ecosystem accounts and partners with structuring, development, finance, engineering, and legal to move deals forward. Utilities will be important partners and, in some cases, potential customers across project development, interconnection, power delivery, and commercial structuring.
Key Responsibilities Build the materials
-
Build customer and partner-facing materials for engagements with hyperscalers, colocation providers, neoclouds, data center developers, utilities, and other large-load counterparties, including introductory decks, commercial proposals, project and site overviews, and responses to RFIs and RFPs
-
Develop the analysis behind every commercial conversation: customer load and siting requirements, utility and delivery pathways, delivered cost of power, and competitive positioning against gas, grid, and other firm clean alternatives
-
Build and maintain commercial models that translate deal terms (volume, timing, pricing, risk allocation) into customer economics and project returns, in coordination with structuring and finance
-
Draft term sheets, deal memos, and decision materials for leadership and board review
Run the execution
-
Run the day-to-day commercial process on active accounts across the data center and power ecosystem: track milestones, manage diligence requests and the data room, and surface blockers early
-
Coordinate inputs from engineering, development, structuring, finance, and legal so customer deliverables are accurate and on time
-
Prepare for customer and partner meetings and negotiations; capture outcomes and drive follow-up to the next milestone
-
Own the commercial pipeline tracking system and weekly reporting: status, milestone dates, counterparty contacts, key terms, and next steps
Shape the customer products
-
Support the design of customer and partner products beyond the core power agreement, including commercial structures and service offerings suited to hyperscalers, colocation providers, neoclouds, data center developers, utilities, and other large-load customers; size the opportunity, define the value proposition, and build the business case
-
Work with the market intelligence team to turn feedback from customers, utilities, and ecosystem partners into recommendations on how Blue Energy packages and prices its offerings
-
Take ownership of select accounts and opportunities as the pipeline grows
Qualifications
-
2 to 4+ years at top tier management consulting firm, investment banking, or similar, with most of that work in electric power, oil and gas, or energy infrastructure
-
Ability to build executive-ready materials quickly: structure the storyline, synthesize complex analysis into a clear recommendation, and produce polished slides and memos
-
Hands-on financial modeling; comfortable building and owning models of project economics, contract cash flows, and customer cost of power
-
Working knowledge of U.S. power markets and how large loads procure power, including PPAs, utility tariffs, interconnection, and utility partnership models
-
Ownership mindset with the ability to run multiple workstreams with competing deadlines and ambiguous inputs; follows through without being asked
-
Credible in front of customers, partners, and internal executives; comfortable presenting to hyperscaler, colocation, neocloud, data center developer, and utility teams as well as to Blue Energy leadership
-
Interest in an early-stage company where the playbook is still being written
Preferred Qualifications
-
Client or transaction work with hyperscalers, colocation providers, neoclouds, data center developers, utilities, IPPs, or other large-load and power-market participants
-
Exposure to nuclear, firm clean power, or large-scale generation development
-
Transaction experience including commercial due diligence, M&A, or project finance
-
Experience with product development, pricing strategy, or new business building
-
Post-consulting experience at a developer, IPP, utility, or energy startup
We look forward to your application and helping foster an era of safe, clean, affordable, and abundant energy. Blue Energy is dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. If you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t perfectly align with every requirement, we encourage you to apply anyway.
