Company: The Boeing Company
The Boeing Defense (BDS), Security, Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems (SI&WS) is seeking multiple Experienced Systems Engineers to join our Experimental Systems Group (ESG) at Kennedy Space Center, FL.
At Boeing, our Systems Engineers drive the innovation, development, evaluation, and end-to-end execution of validation methods and test systems across manufacturing, refurbishment, integrated vehicle testing, and operational checkout. In this role, you will operate across multiple engineering disciplines to verify system-of-systems performance, serving as the technical bridge between design intent, physical hardware validation, and flight readiness through the following responsibilities.
Position Responsibilities:
-
Define, decompose, and coordinate system-level test and verification requirements derived from customer, mission, and operational needs
-
Integrate cross-functional parameters across electrical, mechanical, fluids, thermal, and software interfaces to verify end-to-end compatibility and functional integrity
-
Execute specialized analyses including safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, survivability, and requirement certification to optimize configurations for mission success
-
Govern requirements management and verification tracking using formal tools, risk/opportunity frameworks, and readiness assessments to ensure complete verification closure
-
Represent the system test organization directly in the factory, test cell, and post-production environments throughout hardware builds, integrated functional testing, and refurbishment cycles
-
Conduct dynamic system test operations, translating complex flight and ground environments into actionable test procedures, instrumentation strategies, and acceptance criteria
-
Author technical dispositions and engineering deviations for hardware non-conformances, operational limit exceedances, or test anomalies to maintain operational cadence without sacrificing safety or quality
-
Execute rapid root-cause analysis (RCA), failure investigation, and multi-system troubleshooting to diagnose complex operational anomalies and flight hardware defects
-
Identify, develop, and deploy continuous upgrades to test infrastructure, instrumentation setups, and operational processes to improve test cadence, reliability, and mission throughput
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- Active U.S. Top Secret / SCI security clearance (investigation active or open within the past 24 months; U.S. citizenship required)
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering role
- Ability to analyze and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and parts lists
- Strong skills in engineering analysis, requirements tracing, and technical communication
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience in system-level test and verification of space vehicles or space systems
- Cross-functional leadership skills and experience working with multi-discipline teams
- Knowledge of aerospace avionics, electrical systems, and RF test equipment
- Familiarity with approved repair and testing techniques for electronics and components
- Experience with hardware and software requirements verification using tools like DOORS
- Scripting experience for test automation or data processing (e.g., Python, Tcl/Tk, Perl)
- Experience with configuration management and tracking tools (e.g., Git, SVN, PLM, Jira, MS Project)
