The Bilingual Phlebotomist plays a crucial role in providing high-quality care by expertly performing blood draws and specimen preparation. Your ability to ease patients and obtain samples with minimal discomfort across a diverse demographic is essential to our commitment to healthcare excellence.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, and update patient information.

• Collect and store specimens in accordance with established procedures.

• Clearly and courteously explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections.

• Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles.

• Fully comprehend all physicians' orders.

• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.

• Ensure accuracy by checking test requisitions or computer labels against scripts.

• Package specimens for transport.

• Store specimen samples at the required temperature and follow protocols to maintain specimen integrity.

• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.

• Wear appropriate attire.

• Attend annual department trainings.

• Answer telephone inquiries and provide laboratory results.

Essential Skills

• 2-3 years of experience in drawing blood

Work Environment

This position offers a dynamic work environment with in-state travel opportunities. Work hours are Monday through Wednesday and Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, and Thursday from 9 AM to 6 PM. Bilingual skills are required. The role does not require work on holidays or vacations. Appropriate attire is necessary.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
