Day to Day
As the Senior Director of Product Management for Matching, you will manage product for the intelligence and delivery engine behind Indeed. Matching decides which jobs reach which job seekers and which candidates reach which employers, across search, recommendations, and sourcing. Your customers are the product teams across Indeed that build on this engine. Through them, Matching serves millions of job seekers and employers every day.
You will oversee a product team of about 30 people through five direct reports. The team supports a product, engineering, and data science organization of about 350 people across the US, Canada, Japan, and India. Matching has the largest AI budget of any team at Indeed. The team owns retrieval, ranking, indexes, the machine learning models that predict match quality, and the job seeker and employer data those models use. It also owns the APIs, analytics, and debugging tools other teams use to build on it.
Matching is moving from keyword search to AI-native retrieval and ranking: embedding-based and multi-vector retrieval, semantic IDs, LLM-based relevance, and a move from Lucene to vector search. You will set the strategy for that move and run the platform at high volume, high quality, low latency, and high reliability. You will run Matching as a platform, with clear APIs, documentation, service levels, and dashboards for the teams that depend on it. You will bring outside expertise, adapt it to how Indeed works, and align many internal partners across product, engineering, science, and the business.
