Job DescriptionJoin us as our System Administrator within the IT Operations division on the Infrastructure team! Under limited supervision, administer, configure, and install server environments in support of application processing. Provide technical assistance to end users and consult with management about hardware and software needs in support of all assigned server configurations. Key Responsibilities• Self-sufficiently manage installation, operation, and configuration of specialized systems and application servers.

  • Install, configure, and support server software, operating systems, hardware, and storage infrastructure.

  • Evaluate, monitor, troubleshoot, optimize, and provide recommendations for a stable, highly available server environment.

  • Maintain knowledge of current technologies impacting server infrastructure and agency operations.

  • Document all system aspects, including Secure File Transfer server, and transfer knowledge to team.

  • Adhere to change control, quality control, and documentation procedures.

  • Effectively collaborate with users, vendors, technology professionals, and staff for problem resolution.

  • Train, direct, and coordinate a small team of subordinate personnel.

  • Present technical and non-technical reports clearly and concisely.

  • Establish effective working relationships with vendors, management, and users.

Education and Experience A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems. A degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. A bachelor's degree in information technology systems, computer science, or a related field and experience in information technology systems or a related area.

Moderate knowledge of information technology systems analysis, design, testing, and maintenance techniques. Moderate knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, networking, and other IT tools and resources. Ability to solve basic to moderate problems, and to apply critical thinking skills to needs and problems. Ability to follow technical directions and to communicate in a clear and concise manner. Moderate understanding of IT Infrastructure as it applies to an enterprise data center. Supplemental questions are considered part of your official application.
