Full job description
Requisition number: 2396816
Job category: Product
Optum Insight is improving the flow of health data and information to create a more connected system. We remove friction and drive alignment between care providers and payers, and ultimately consumers. Our deep expertise in the industry and innovative technology empower us to help organizations reduce costs while improving risk management, quality and revenue growth. Ready to help us deliver results that improve lives? Join us in making healthcare work better for everyone through people-led, responsible AI while Caring. Connecting. Growing together.
We are building the next generation of AI-powered revenue cycle products for health systems, spanning denial prevention, clinical appeals, claim status automation, and workflow intelligence. This role owns that portfolio end to end: the strategy for where it goes, the business case for why, the roadmap that gets it there, and the commercial outcome it produces in market.
This is a builder's role with a revenue mandate. You will set direction across multiple product lines, lead the roadmap driving it, and work shoulder to shoulder with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and clinical leadership to take products from first design partner to scaled, referenceable, revenue-generating offerings. Success is measured by products that customers buy, adopt, renew, and expand, not by features shipped.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
Product Strategy and Portfolio Direction
-
Own the strategy and multi-year roadmap for the revenue cycle automation portfolio, including where to play, what to sequence, and what to stop
-
Build and defend business cases for new investment, including market sizing, pricing hypotheses, and expected financial impact
-
Assess build, buy, and partner options, and lead competitive and market analysis that informs portfolio decisions
-
Represent the portfolio and its direction to senior leadership
Commercialization and Go-to-Market
-
Own pricing, packaging, and positioning in partnership with Marketing, Finance, and Sales leadership
-
Lead launch strategy from design partner through general availability, including enablement, reference development, and the path from pilot to scaled deployment
-
Serve as the external product voice with executive buyers, in client discussions, advisory boards, and industry settings
-
Own the commercial performance of the portfolio, including adoption, retention, expansion, and revenue against plan
AI Product Leadership
-
Use AI to compress the path from idea to artifact, producing clickable prototypes, synthetic data, and draft specs fast enough to test a direction in days rather than sprints
-
Partner with data science and engineering to specify agentic workflows, predictive models, and automation, and to define the evaluation criteria that determine whether they are good enough to ship
-
Navigate model governance, explainability, and auditability requirements with clinical, legal, and compliance partners
-
Design for trust, so that users can see why the system reached a conclusion and can reverse it
Product Roadmap and Delivery
-
Own the portfolio roadmap and the tradeoff decisions behind it, balancing new capability, platform investment, client commitments, and technical debt
-
Translate strategy into sequenced releases with clear scope, dependencies, and success criteria, and keep that sequencing current as the market and client priorities shift
-
Set and maintain the delivery rhythm with engineering and design, including requirements, prioritization, release planning, and launch readiness
-
Create clarity for engineering, design, and clinical partners in an ambiguous and fast-moving space, and drive alignment across a matrixed organization with competing priorities
-
Define the KPIs that matter, instrument them, and use performance and adoption data to reallocate investment
You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
Required Qualifications:
-
6+ years of product management experience
-
2+ years of experience taking at least one product from concept to commercial launch and through to scaled, multi-customer adoption
-
2+ year of experience owning pricing, packaging, or commercial strategy in partnership with Sales and Marketing
-
1+ years owning a product line, portfolio, or P&L
-
1+ years in healthcare technology
-
Proven experience shipping AI, machine learning, or automation products into production with real customers
-
Willing to travel up to 10%
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience building products for front or back-office revenue cycle, claims, denials, appeals, prior authorization, or coding and CDI
-
Experience selling to or deploying health systems, including enterprise contracting and multi-site rollout
-
Experience with outcome-based, per-transaction, or contingency pricing models
-
Experience taking a product from zero to first revenue in a startup or new-venture environment
-
Experience with agentic AI systems or workflow automation in regulated settings
