Full job description

Who we are

Atoms is building the machines that power the next era of progress.

Over the last decade, software has transformed the digital world. But the physical world, where food is made, minerals are mined, goods are moved, and industries are run, remains far less intelligent, far less efficient, and far more constrained. We’re changing that.

Atoms builds Physical AI— real-world robots for the industries that move civilization forward, starting with food, mining, and transport. Our systems are designed to understand, predict, and control the real world with precision, turning complex physical operations into something more reliable, more scalable, and more productive.

This work requires more than robotics. It requires deep integration across hardware, software, AI, operations, manufacturing, and real estate. We don’t just build machines in a lab. We deploy them into real environments, operate them, learn from them, and improve them until they work at scale.

We are roboticists, engineers, operators, and builders. We believe the next great technology companies will not only transform information, but the physical systems that shape everyday life.

If you want to work on hard problems with real-world impact, join us.

About the role

The Operations Manager will serve as the end-to-end owner of market operations, responsible for leading a high-performing team, delivering on key performance metrics, and driving continuous improvement. This role is ideal for a high-agency operator who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to solve problems from first principles.

You will lead day-to-day execution while identifying opportunities to scale processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the driver and passenger experience. Success in this role requires a strong drive for action, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to develop talent while holding teams accountable to results. This is a critical leadership role with direct impact on Atoms’s growth and operational excellence.

What you’ll do

  • Own and drive the end-to-end operations of your depot – you are the leader of your business, responsible for performance and execution exceeding performance metric goals.

  • Own costs, and performance management across all ops team members, ensuring a lean, high-output team.

  • Own all aspects of fleet operations – from vehicle health and availability to onboarding ensuring maximum uptime and reducing unnecessary downtime.

  • Lead with data: Solve real-world problems using first-principles, taking an analytical approach to delivering results.

  • Inspire and develop high-performing teams through coaching, feedback, and clear accountability; build future leaders by fostering ownership at all levels.

  • Identify and own high-impact projects that move the needle on efficiency, scalability, and customer experience—then drive them from ideation through execution.

  • Foster a culture of bias for action and operational excellence, where problems are surfaced early and solved quickly.

  • Continuously challenge the status quo: Look for opportunities to automate, streamline, or rethink legacy processes to scale faster and better.

  • Develop deep understanding of business needs – to serve as the connective tissue across departments, ensuring alignment, communication, and accountability from strategy through frontline execution.

  • Relentlessly pursue operational improvement, leveraging data and feedback loops to refine the market’s roadmap and deliver exceptional results.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Admin, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or fleet-based startups where you owned execution, solved problems from first principles, and managed performance in fast-paced environments.

  • 3+ years of direct people leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, and holding teams accountable to outcomes in hourly or shift-based workforces.

  • Proven experience managing fleet operations, with a focus on maximizing vehicle uptime, utilization, and operational efficiency.

  • Strong analytical skill set, with the ability to use data to identify bottlenecks, prioritize high-impact initiatives, and drive continuous improvement

  • Exceptional communicator, capable of aligning field teams and HQ stakeholders through clear, concise written and verbal updates

  • Builder mindset with product orientation, eager to create systems, improve workflows, and collaborate with tech teams to influence tools and process design

  • Self-directed operator with a high sense of ownership, who thrives in ambiguity and moves quickly from insight to action
