Come lead the data operations team that produces the ground-truth data our models learn from.

We are looking for a Manager of Robotics Data to manage the shift of our data collection operation in San Francisco. You will manage a 20–30-person team of data collectors, own delivery and process for the shift, and ensure quality and throughput targets are met. • Serve as an essential point of contact for the Data Flywheel team. Interact with researchers, software and hardware engineers, and the Ops team on prioritization and project execution.

  • Manage daily floor operations: staffing, work allocation, and escalation of issues on robotics. Create reports and track project/process metrics.

  • Capacity planning and build capacity: Forecast the demand of the data based on research plan, plan for the ops capacity, and identify bottleneck

  • Identify repetitive problems from data operations and initiate new technical and operational programs to de-bottleneck the issues systematically.

  • Drive process optimization and improvement projects in quality and productivity across the data collection workflow. Partner with cross-functional teams and DC Tech Leads to improve tooling and processes.

  • Partner with vendors on managing the 3P team. Review vendor performance at regular cadence and ensure productivity and quality deliverables are met.

  • Manage expectations of multiple stakeholders across teams within the program. Present team metrics and write-ups in business review meetings.

  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members, including conversion of high-performing contractors to full-time roles.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of people management and team development experience

  • Experience with continuous improvement processes

  • 5+ years of operations experience

  • Familiarity with standard desktop tools (Word, Excel) and the ability to create reports and track metrics

  • Strong technical and non-technical program management

  • Strong entrepreneur ownership, willingness to meet daily deadlines in an ever changing and fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with strong project management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • A bachelor's degree in any field (STEM preferred but not required)

  • Experience managing robotics, data, or ML data operations teams

  • Excellent verbal and written communication; strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Strong people-management skills and the ability to lead by example and adapt to dynamic requirements
