Full job description
The Day Shift Team Member supports morning opening, lunch rush service, and early afternoon operations. This dual front-of-house and back-of-house role is responsible for greeting guests, taking counter orders, prepping ingredients, cooking classic diner menu items to order, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Morning Prep & Setup: Follow morning opening checklists to turn on grills, steam tables, and fryers; stock prep lines, slice toppings, portion sides, and ensure the counter and dining areas are fully prepped before opening. 2. Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare menu items to order-including Coney hot dogs, burgers, fries, and sandwiches-following exact recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards. 3. Counter Service & Cashiering: Greet incoming guests, accurately ring up counter and phone/online orders on the POS system, process cash/credit payments, and package takeout orders neatly. 4. Lunch Rush Execution: Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to maintain quick ticket times and high food quality during the midday peak. 5. Sanitation & Restocking: Follow health department and food safety guidelines; continually wipe down surfaces, wash prep dishes, restock drink stations and condiment areas, and complete mid-shift trash runs and sweep routines.
